How does local giving change the world?

On June 7, we will join Global Impact for a Twitter chat to discuss how a donation made locally can promote global development, and how global development can benefit local communities. Follow #1Day1World from 1-2 pm ET to join the conversation.

D.C.-area residents can also join us on Thursday, June 8 for #DoMore24, a day of targeted online giving supporting D.C.-based organizations, including organizations such as HVO, whose local operations support a global mission. Dr. Jon Kolkin, an HVO volunteer and award-winning artist, has a solo exhibition opening in Thimphu, Bhutan this Friday!

If you are currently located in Bhutan, we encourage you to check out the exhibition at the Indian Embassy's Siddharth Art Gallery. If you are not located in Bhutan, you can view Dr. Kolkin's work, and read about the inspiration behind the series on his website.

Many thanks to Dr. Kolkin for his generosity in donating 100% of all sales from the exhibition to support HVO's projects in Bhutan.

Many thanks to HVO partner institution Angkor Hospital for Children for highlighting the impact of a one-day training course in Crisis Team Management, delivered by a team of volunteers led by Dr. Richard Henker!

This was the fourth time the training was delivered at AHC, and the first time AHC staff worked alongside volunteers to help deliver the course. We look forward to watching this training continue to evolve into an AHC-delivered Khmer language-based course!
