A few years ago, I realized that my life would be a lot easier if I knew where everything was. So, I started to become more organized. Basically – becoming organized is about establishing a statu quo ...

I'd love to hear everyone's opinions on Austin. This is the beginning of a three part series on the city and surrounding environs, concluding with a profile of Shannon Hopp!

http://www.hudsongardner.com/blog/on-austin-city
This is a three part series about my trip to Austin. I stayed with my old friend Nico Reynolds while there. He is about to graduate with a PhD in Piano Performance. It will conclude the series with a profile on Shannon Hopp, a fashion designer I have known for several years.    1 — City Austin is a strange city: a progressive bastion in the middle of conservative Texas. There are some things about it that are ve...

On Slow Gospel today — http://slowgospel.net/haiku/
A cup, poured slowly, is drunk without haste. The feel of the warm cup. I lost it. After the first sip. A dog barks — no, a man sneezes. Wait, Cicadas drone — Summer. View All Posts ». Posted: 11 June...

Slow Gospel today: The Dichotomy of Doing
The school year is ending, and my thoughts have begun to slow down. All of a sudden there is nothing to do, and a lot of time to do it in. This can be hard, or really nice. For some people, it's r...

The best communication I've had from a mechanic. These guys are very careful to allow customers to make their own decisions, not forcing anything one way or another. I had a new clutch installed, as the old was worn out (2001 Subaru Forester). A new clutch is like driving a new car. Thanks!

Love the two tiered seating and the thick entry curtain. Pancakes are good. 4 stars for lack of maple syrup by default.

Very small interior but employees make it work. I think it's incredible that they aren't obsessed as so many Americans are with moving to bigger and better, multiple locations, etc, just content to provide excellent food and service in a small space. It is the best Indian food I've had in Nebraska. It was wonderfully complex, you could tell they roasted their spices daily and didn't just make things half way. The mint chutney serves with the paratha was thick and wonderfully fermented; effervescent in fact. The awareness of the servers was also incredible, with a young girl and possibly her mother just being very present and graceful. They weren't pushy or loud, just there to take an order and clear away plates when they needed to be cleared. Everything was taken care of very efficiently. Some of the best waiting I've ever experienced.

One of the best. Service was very friendly and "human", not like usual service in the USA which is very businesslike. We were encouraged to hang out and enjoy conversation and our meal. Five of us ordered the family plate, which comes with four choices of entrees, all served on a bed of perfectly cooked basmati/long grain rice. The meat and vegetables were all cooked perfectly, and the owner even threw in some fried eggplant, like they make "back home." Try the spicy green sauce!
