Having a complete dental exam with your vet is a great way to spot any dental issues with your pet, BUT brushing at home is the best way to keep them healthy! This is a great article about dental care at home for clean teeth and fresh breath. http://news.yahoo.com/cure-bad-pet-breath-could-toothbrush-away-092718013.html

As a follow up to our previous post, here is an educational website listing the disease progression and symptoms of animals that are infected with Rabies. Please make sure you read through it and keep your family and pets safe! http://www.healthcommunities.com/rabies/symptoms.shtml

Since we are on the subject of odd things being removed from our animals, this link has some great x-ray pictures of strange foreign bodies! One dog even ate Homer Simpson! (Note, just ignore the very last paragraph which is an advertisement.) http://www.probioticsmart.com/blog/16-weirdest-things-dogs-have-eaten/

Awesome story of cat named Holly who was lost in Daytona Beach, Florida then showed up near her house in West Palm Beach a month later! She was skinny and almost lost half her weight, but scientists suspect that she walked all or most of the way home! Her microchip helped identify her and return her safely. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/01/19/one-cats-incredible-journey/

Scary story of a entire family and two dogs in Gloucester Township who were exposed to a kitten infected with Rabies. Please be very careful with any stray, sick animal and know the signs of Rabies! There are some helpful tips included in this article: http://www.nj.com/south/index.ssf/2013/01/cat_tests_positive_for_rabies.html

We have an older 16-17 year old cat that has been very rarely seen by a vet. So when we noticed a few things that didn't seem right with our boy, we knew we needed to find a vet that would be good with him. Not wanting to add any more stress to him by taking him out, we wanted to find a mobile vet. I didn't have any referrals, so I asked Google and found House Paws. From appointment making to communication, to care and and knowledge, we have been so very happy with their services. Dr Dana has been so good with our Jack and has helped him get back to the Jack we know and love! She truly cares for her patients and treats them so gently and carefully. We love and trust Dr Dana and the staff is very dependable! I highly recommend!!!

Dr. Wood and her assistant ( forget her name!) just left. She was great! $25 additional for a house call is worth every penny!!! Our cat is already so upset by the time we get to a vet and it's all downhill from there! They made our cat feel as much at ease as possible. Will definitely use House Paws in the future. Never going back to a regular vet again.

We had the unfortunate experience of having to make the decision to have a beloved pet put down. Dr. Matt came out to see our dog who just wasn't acting quite right this past Monday. By Wednesday, we were researching everything we could on canine lymphoma, as our Sunny was diagnosed as having an aggressive form of this. Dr. Matt was empathetic and knowledgeable, laying out our options and emailing contact information for specialists that could possibly help. He made sure Sunny's records were transferred for review by the specialists and encouraged us to schedule an appointment asap due to the rapid progression of the disease. He responded to my many questions completely and in a timely manner. We ultimately decided not to go through with the consult and to allow our beloved Sunny to have a peaceful and loving end of his life with lots of treats and surrounded by favorite friends and family. We contacted the HousePaws staff on Friday to have them come out as soon as possible over the weekend, and they were able to accommodate our request with an appointment on Saturday. We were able to give Sunny "the best day ever," with all of his favorite people pampering him with yummy treats and constant love. Dr. Lauren Silvesti and her assistant Nancy arrived right on time. They were kind and compassionate throughout the entire appointment, giving us plenty of time to say our goodbyes and speak our final words of love to our dog. Dr. Lauren explained the procedure in detail so we knew what to expect at every stage. While we were consumed with grief over our impending loss, Dr. Lauren and Nancy were so gentle and kind with us and with Sunny. Dr. Lauren even took a picture of our family with Sunny before the procedure! We had a bit of a crowd over for Sunny's best day ever party and we all were so impressed with Dr. Lauren and Nancy's professionalism, compassion and kindness during a truly difficult time. A friend in attendance today who has loved and lost many pets said that when the time comes for her current pets to cross the Rainbow Bridge, she will be using HousePaws to ease the journey. Thank you, Dr. Matt for your thorough assessment of Sunny this past Monday and for putting my mind at ease with answers to my questions. Dr. Lauren and Nancy, thank you for your genuine patience and kindness during Sunny's passing today. We would recommend HousePaws to any of our fellow pet owners for care of their beloved pets.

This place said they could fix my cats blockage real quick for real cheap. Short story, my cat monkey was almost dead when we picked him up and took him to a real animal hospital. I will not recomened to anyone, they are a moblie pet business, not an animal hospital. I dont even know if my pet will make it at the other place after dealing with them.

I just had the best experience with House Paws mobile vet! My dog started limping on Sunday night and I just couldn't get her to my regular vet with a 1 year old and my husband working super late every night. I called them this morning and they rearranged their schedule to fit me in tonight. They said they would be here between 7-8 and they showed up at 7:30. Dr. Dana and Rachel were fantastic! They figured out she pulled a muscle in her shoulder without even doing an X-ray. They also treated her ear infection by putting medicine in there that will last 2 weeks! She now has pain meds and anti inflammatory meds so hopefully she will be feeling better soon. The best part is it was 1/3 the cost that I expected it to be and I know way cheaper than my regular vet even with the $25 travel fee included! I would highly recommend them to anyone. I may actually switch permanently to them for all my animals.

My 10 year old cat, Lucy, began showing signals that something was wrong yesterday morning. This morning I called HousePaws: the person answering the phone was very friendly and helpful and took care of my appointment and answered all my questions IMMEDIATELY!! Dr. Hecht and an assistant were at my home with 3 hours. Both their demeanors with my sensitive cat were extremely soothing to both Lucy and to me, as Lucy and I are very close. Dr. Hecht performed a complete examination, found a problem and took steps to correct it with wonderful sensitivity to Lucy's feelings. Following the exam, Dr. Hecht sat down and discussed thoroughly what she had done, what she found, and future requirements. This is, by far, the best veterinary service I have ever received during the last 5 decades of going to vets with different cat problems.

I have been going to HousePaws with both my own dogs and my foster dogs. I want to thank everyone there for all they do for their clients and the community. They have been there for my animals for everything from routine checkups to broken bones, infections and much more serious illnesses. They have a wonderful relationship with every type of specialist from chiropractic to neurological and in between. They answer questions in a way that is easy to understand and their knowledge of a wide variety of problems is impressive.
