#RickOsterloh  returns to #Google  to head new hardware division.
Rick Osterloh is returning home, so to speak, to Google to head the company’s newly hatched hardware division. Osterloh originally arrived at Google by way of the search giant’s purchase of Motorola in 2011. While under the Google umbrella, Osterloh was promoted to CEO of Motorola, but was unceremoniously booted from Mountain View when Motorola

#Bitcoin  for #Steam  payments? Looks like #Valve  made it happen.
Valve has decided to start accepting Bitcoin payments on Steam in an attempt to expand the accessibility its digital distribution empire into emerging gaming markets such as India, China, and Brazil. By adding Bitcoin to the mix, Valve is making it easier for gamers who live in places where traditional payment options aren't available to stock

Do you feel the FT and EU are justified in their concern with #Google 's dominance with #Android ? It seems like a reach but when you look at the market share numbers lately, perhaps not.
When Google's Android OS began overtaking every other mobile OS in terms of marketshare, it seemed obvious that at some point, the company would be catching a bit of flak for it. In fact, it seemed inevitable that the EU would have something to say about it, as it's traditionally been strict amount companies that dominate a particular segment

#Volvo  is not impressed at all with #Tesla   #Autopilot
Tesla Motors knows how to stay in the headlines, be it with the “mainstream” Model 3, the refreshed Model S, or by touting the capabilities of its technology-laden Autopilot system. However, it’s the latter tech that getting attention today, because one of its competitors is throwing some ID4 City Destroyer-level shade on Autopilot. In

Chrome OS/Chromebooks  -

Nice to see #HP  refreshing their #Chromebook  line with Intel Skylake, multiple USB-C ports and a nice QHD+ display.
Hewlett-Packard is fully committed to Google’s Chrome OS, and that dedication to the platform extends to today’s announcement of the Chromebook 13. The Chromebook 13 is quite the looker with sleek styling, premium materials (like a brushed aluminum chassis that measures just 12.9mm thick) and sixth generation Intel Skylake power. Let’s

OK, this is flippin cool! #XboxOne   #captainamericacivilwar   #Microsoft  chooses team #IronMan  now Sony needs to build a Captain America console. :)
We’ve seen a number of special edition Xbox One consoles since its initial introduction over two years ago. However, Microsoft France has gone “Full Marvel” by enlisting the help of Tony Stark (better known as Iron Man) to design its latest Xbox One. The newest Xbox One is emblazoned with Stark Industries logos and has a miniature arc reactor

Is it me or is this cable and connection slightly too bulky for simple old audio... Why do we have to change this from analog? #USBC   #Intel
Intel is joining the fight to replace the widely used 3.5mm headphone jack with USB Type-C connectors. The Santa Clara chip maker isn't the first to suggest such a move, though the challenge in toppling the 3.5mm port is that it's everywhere. Nevertheless, Intel presented an extensive proposal at IDF Shenzhen to make the swap. Replacing

Intel wants to free up the space in smartphones currently dedicated to that jack plus the analog circuitry to drive the output. They may also want to get rid of audio front-panel jacks and speaker jacks on computers entirely, which'd let them omit the audio chipset on the motherboard (which means no more money going to RealTek et. al. instead of to Intel).

#HP  has a new #Chromebook  in market and it's pretty swank with a QHD+ display and some serious styling for chump change.
