I live in London now but when I was visiting for business over the years I stayed here quite frequently and genuinely enjoyed every stay. It's quite good value for The City and it's in a perfect location. The bar makes a fabulous old fashioned.

Astonishing 19th Century building with an original intricately designed stained glass dome which makes it a unique venue for hosting champagne receptions. I had a tour of the hotel and I must say the lobby is ideal for social gatherings. If you are looking for a venue that has exceptional quality in service standards that will give a prestigious impression on your guests, Threadneedles comes at top!

Stayed here for 1 night in July 2013. I would highly recommend the hotel. It is very quiet but the staff attentive and helpful. The toileteries are top notch too - white company. The breakfast in Bonds is good but i would only go for this if you are on the B&B rate. The £25 is a bit steep for the breakfast.

Nice bed and bathroom.Friendly staff. I'd have liked to have seen more mod-cons eg a decent tv with a remote control that works, selection of music etc so lost a star for this. Also, came to this hotel based on a previous visit few years ago and they had an amazing veggie burger. Couldn't see it on the menu this time so asked if they could make one up, they said yes but what I got was burger baps with 2 slices processed cheese, 2 slices tomatoes, lettuce and gherkins. Not what I had in mind! Wish they'd just said no and I could've chosen something else. This left me quite disappointed so lost another star. Also, nowhere nearby for parking but I guess this is central london! Better hotels so doubt I'll be back here.
