Fantastic hotel and restaurant service. I met one guest who has lived in the hotel for several months and another who had 90 stays in 2014. They raved about their experience. I received hugs from the front desk on the way out. I will return!

My boyfriend and I stayed in a room for ONE night. We checked out a couple of hours before check out time and stopped by the front desk for our receipt and everything was just fine, we were even told to come back, A few hours later we had a 250$ charge and a 7$ charge that we were told was just a hold when we called, the next day they then told us that we had SMOKED in the room and left it a mess. We didn't even sit on the couch in the room nor did we make a mess at all. We are not smokers! They told us that they had complaints of smoke from our room but said nothing to us while we were there. The manager Mario then said they had video of us " smoking" in our room.. my first thought was why do they have video if we were in OUR room.. my second thought was why didn't they say anything at the front desk when we left if they had " complaints" They also charged us for almonds that we're in the honor bar in our room. We didn't eat anything offered in the room.. Either the staff at the front desk are complete idiots or the house keepers had themselves a party after we checked out two hours early. We then had to file a dispute with our bank to get the charge taken off after we we're told by the manager that we wouldn't be refunded. These people are very rude.

I scheduled a corporate meeting at the Hotel Lumen that included group rooms and a conference room for a meeting. The actual rooms were wonderful and the customer service was exceptional. A special thank-you to Daniel Delacorte for ensuring the meeting flowed seamlessly. The catering service was timely and the staff was extremely supportive and helpful. All of the employees enjoyed their stay and left with a positive experience. I would highly recommend the Hotel Lumen for personal or business travel! This will be my selected hotel in the future for our next event in Dallas.

This may be the worst hotel in Dallas I have stayed in. (Compared to Hotel Zaza, Hilton, Adolphus, Magnolia, Courtyard Marriott, etc.) PAPER THIN WALLS,Do not go if you want to sleep... strange layout w/ open shower to the room... Not nearly enough staff. One valet guy, one front desk attendant. My A/C broke first night. Listened to our neighbors from 2:00AM -- 5:30AM the second night. And had a room service breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, and glass of water for one person of $35 Sunday morning. I honestly cannot believe most of these reviews, I wonder if I actually stayed in the same hotel, but if this is Hotel Lumen, A Kimpton Hotel on Hillcrest in Dallas, TX. Then I most certianly did! Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.

I made a reservation for a queen room through their online system on 10/14 and the morning of 10/15 while en route to Dallas I got a call from the hotel saying that the queen room I booked was no longer available; they wanted to put me in a room with no windows and a fold out bed. To compensate they'd knock $35 off the price. I got excuses from engineering took the room out of service to the hotel was overbooked (I thought only airlines did this). Of couse they could not get me into their sister hotel (The Palomar) either. Funny how both had all kinds of rooms when I made my reservation but none when the date came. An absolute disaster that will not happen again.
