Small rooms. Surprisingly noisy (maybe just unlucky with loud upstairs neighbor). But the staff members are excellent. The decor and furnishings are nice. I'd love to give a higher rating, but when I'm spending over $200/night I have higher expectations.

A gem of a hotel! We just spent a long weekend here and will definitely stay here again. The staff was incredible, as was the General Manager. All very attentive, helpful and friendly. Great location also. The movie theme throughout was a treat.

Overall I like this hotel a lot. Old time Hollywood theme throughout with some pretty good photography of stars from the past. My only issue is that the rooms, especially the bathrooms are small. I guess that is the tradeoff with a hotel located in an older building with lots of character. Located in a quieter part of town, just east of 405. There is a really good restaurant in the hotel. Fairly priced given the quality of the hotel, bed and linens.

VERY friendly staff. Nice rooms. Nice TVs! Good location just west of downtown by a block or so. Pet friendly ($45 per stay -- a bit steep for one night, but seems quite fair for a weekend or longer stay -- fee includes some treats and a pet bed) Only gripe is that they offer a really great deal on Priceline but it's only for a one-bed room. If you need to upgrade it to two beds, there's a rather hefty up-charge. They did acknowledge that it was a steep up-charge and gave me a break, so that was appreciated. In the end, it definitely seems like a great place for a couple. Might not be the best choice for bringing the kids. It'd be nice if the in-room fridges were available for general use (vs. it being a mini-bar).

Insanely wonderful. It was our first time at this hotel. We arrived early and our room wasn't quite ready, the staff was professional and darling about it. They took our bags and offered to call us within the hour. We had road tripped in and decided to visit the local Nordstroms. Within 10 minutes, my husband received a call that our room was ready. Our entire stay was lovely. From valet, to check in, to our room to visiting their restaurant and bar. THIS was a 5 star experience. Most notably, our room was fabulous. Right out of old Hollywood. I never sleep in any room not my own, this is a long standing known. But I slept, all night. Quiet, perfect mattress and bedding, fresh air. We may never discover another hotel in Portland as we will be coming back to Hotel deLuxe every time.

Lovingly restored boutique hotel that transports you to 1930's Hollywood, with attention to all of the art deco details. We stayed in a corner suite, and it was gorgeous, a nice balance of coziness and modern amenities (with iPod dock, Aveda bath products). Whether you stay here or not, be sure to check out the Driftwood Room, which manages to be a little swank and a little seedy all at the same time.

Really neat place with some charm and good location. We enjoyed the Driftwood room for happy hour. Rooms are small but that's expected in a renovated old hotel. Walls were a bit thin. Staff were friendly!

My wife and I spent an evening at the Hotel deLuxe to celebrate her birthday. I based my decision to book the room on the many gleaming reviews I read online. I can honestly say that the Hotel deLuxe delivered, above and beyond our expectations. When booking I left a note stating that the stay was for a birthday. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by friendly staff and upgraded to what definitely seemed like one of the best rooms available (our stay was on a Monday). We were a bit early, so we decided to explore downtown until our room was ready. The hotel is in a great location, putting you within walking distance of all downtown, Pearl Dist. & Goose Hollow locations. We received a call when our room was ready. Upon return we were again immediately assisted by friendly staff catering to our needs. We enjoyed a drink at Gracie's (the hotel restaurant) before returning to our room. For the rest of the evening we enjoyed an amazing view of downtown Portland in our cozy, neat and well laid out King Feature room. Another great perk of this location is that the Max rail is located right outside, giving you quick and easy access to larger Portland. Our stay was memorable and we will definitely be back!
