Hotel was located very conveniently for me. Decor was odd, but eccentric in the sort of way that some people like. Hallways dimly lit by faux candelabras - whole hotel felt slightly Victorian and macabre. My air conditioner leaked all over the floor of my room on my last night, thankfully sparing my clothes and suitcase. I stayed here for 4 nights but was so disappointed in the room service that I ate out after the first night. However: 1. comfortable beds, 2: large bathroom, 3. quiet 4. EXTREMELY conveniently located to my office make this experience largely a wash.

David McCormack, Our location is close to the best in Chicago, and we’re glad you found that convenient. We always appreciate hearing back from our guests, and your feedback about the décor and room service are being taken seriously as we strive for guests who walk through our doors happy and leave even happier. While we’re pleased that our beds were comfortable and our bathrooms were large— we apologize for the leak in the air conditioner. We’re known for our unmatched customer service and accommodations, and we’d love to see you again, where we can offer you a stay with excellent room service, and air-conditioning that works like a charm.

I was there during construction, while understandable, a hotel should not adverstise completed pictures, when this is not even close to the current condition of the hotel. The rooms were 240/night and were NOT any nicer than a Days Inn or Holiday Inn, save your money and go to a cheaper hotel. That said, the location is in the middle of the mile and close to many shops and restaurants. In addition, the staff was perfect! The concierge helped us plan a whole day out. The parking and loading staff was amazing. We had two issues with the room and both were handled ridicucously quick! The staff saves this hotel!

Amanda Benson, We’re so pleased you found our location here at Hotel Chicago convenient! It’s agreed, our team is amazing. And having great guests come stay with us, like you, makes our job a pleasure! We are taking your concerns about the remodel seriously. The new look promises to raise the bar on luxury, and we appreciate our guests’ understanding during the transition. We look forward to having you back and showing you our new look, where our helpful team will be here to welcome your return!

Bed was comfortable. I knew all of this before I rented the room. The only problem I found was the hotel bar.
Response from the owner - 6 months ago
Hello Samantha, A comfy bed after a day of traveling or exploring the city is a dream come true; we're thrilled to have offered you a restful stay. We apologize that our bar, Crimson Lounge, failed to impress. We hope that you loved your visit to our city, and that you had time to see many of her loved attractions! We hope to welcome you back when you next visit the Windy City.

I stayed here with a couple of colleagues as we had a work meeting near the Mile. It was convenient to walk to our meeting and great to have so much so close. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even giving us several dinner suggestions. We chose HUB 51 (AMAZING). Even though the hotel is still in renovations, my room was fantastic. Comfy bed, huge bathroom, fun/eclectic decor and a great view. Very pleased with the Hotel Chicago and will definitely stay here again.

My experience today was horrible. The Director of Front Desk Operations left for his holiday weekend, while two dissatisfied Elite Members were still in the hotel lobby, not enjoying the hotel at all, and both were leaving. One found another hotel room, the other (me) was still looking. If this is how they treat their Elite members, how do they treat everyone else? We figured that they will boot you from assigned rooms for more money, so you may not get the room you think you are getting. But if you like to take a chance, go ahead. Imran did get out of the hotel fast enough to enjoy his holiday weekend, while two customers, were fed up with this establishment. Someone commented that this hotel was a joke. Feel like laughing when your money and time is involved? Then go ahead and take a chance. Right now money is tied up on my card (for the whole holiday weekend) for the possible purchase of incidentials at a hotel that I am leaving before I even stay there. Go figure. I would recommend the full service Marriott. The Conrad Hilton. Embassy Suites. The Public Hotel. The Witt. The Renaissance. The Blackstone Hotel, anything but this hotel right now. I liked the rooms, but you have to at least get there. Oh well.

Hello Jackie, Please accept our sincerest apologies for your poor experience at reception. Your loyalty as an Elite Member is very important to us. We apologize for not making you feel more valued as a guest. We strive to provide uniquely wonderful experiences; it seems we have fallen short in your case. We invite you to reach out to us personally at mdeinhart@thehotelchicago.com. We’d like the opportunity to gather more information and make this right. We look forward to hearing from you.

The worst 4 stars hotel I have ever been. It does not even deserve 2 stars. The building is too old and renovated badly. The put me in a very small room that I really do not want to stay in it for more than one minute. They have a very small lobby. It has nothing enjoyable at all.
Response from the owner - 5 months ago
Alawfi, We are known for luxurious accommodations, exquisite rooms, and unmatched service— and are sorry our hotel was not a good fit for you during this recent stay. As a boutique hotel, our rooms are often unique in size and layout. Current renovations at Hotel Chicago promise to raise the bar on luxury, and we’d love to have you stay again to see our new look. It would be our pleasure to help you find a room which better suits your needs.

It’s a super cute/chic hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Parking attendants and hotel staff was really cool – we had a bachelor party going next door to us. As for the rooms they are a little small but have nice décor and comfy beds. There’s a good restaurant down-stairs off the lobby too. It’s a great location with walking distance to lots of stores, restaurants, bars, and lounges.
