Another great project celebrating Hopkinton's 300th Anniversary - we  hope that you can join us!
As part of the Hopkinton 300th anniversary celebration, Hopkinton residents @Cheryl Perreault and @Cynthia Franca are inviting the community to come and join the celebration of the newly published “ Hopkinton Through Poetry: Celebrating 300 Years” Anthology of 36 local poets and writers sharing poems that state what they love about the town of Hopkinton.

The celebratory book launch will offer a reading by some of the contributing poets. Attendees will be able to purchase books at this time of debut that will coincide with the year of celebration for Hopkinton's 300th Anniversary.

The anthology will be available at this event as a limited edition item for $20. All proceeds will be divided and donated to three local Hopkinton organizations offering services to community including The Michael Lisnow Respite Center, Serenity House and Project Just Because.

More information, call Cheryl Perreault at 508 435-8638 or visit www.hopkintonthroughpoetrybook.com

The restoration of the Claflin Fountain will begin on September 1 as the fountain is reassembled and turned on and when complete, it will be part of the 300th Anniversary Celebration weekend on Friday, September 11. Please join us for a ribbon cutting and some cake. There will also be a presentation of the Town Seal.

The fountain is a visible, meaningful, and historic element of Hopkinton’s 300th anniversary celebration and a lasting focal point on the Common. The restoration is the result of inter-departmental collaboration and the community’s generosity. The restoration is and has been a pain staking and detailed process that involved:
Securing the funding
Development of an RFP that included a
history of the fountain
Search for a qualified and proven artist
Collaboration between P & R and the Historic District

COLLABORATORS/STAKEHOLDERS
Parks and Recreation Commission
Historic District Commission
Hopkinton Engineering and Facilities Department
Community Preservation Committee

FOUNTAIN COMMITTEE (appointed by P & R)
Len Holden, Chair
Eric Sonnett
Tim Kilduff
