Meet the MC Fill. No, it’s not an up-and-coming rapper, but it has been known to drop some serious knowledge. This new hydrogen filling station more precisely monitors the dispenser outlet temperature, which is how it derives its name—“M” for mass and “C” for specific heat. What this means for consumers is faster fueling times comparable to those of conventional gasoline vehicles. The MC Fill was developed in anticipation of Honda’s next-generation fuel-cell vehicle, due out in 2015. The research station is located at Honda R&D America’s campus in Torrance, CA, and will be made available to other automakers to further validate the MC Fill protocol’s performance.
