The Home Motel has always been one of my favorite places to stay in Lava. Their new mattresses are the bomb. The big original square tubs are so so relaxing. You will love the mineral water coming right into the rooms with an outside tub as well. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. Try the Home and I'm sure you will love it too!

WTH!!! it was amazing. We had three rooms and my whole family can't stop talking about this vacation. From the location to the bath tubs to the beds to the privacy and all the staff and the owners. Jeez!! it's about time finally feel like it was the best money we ever spent and then some. absolutely incredible!!

I spent one night at the Home Hotel recently with my boyfriend. It was meant to be a sort of romantic getaway. My general impression was that the staff was amazing, but the room I stayed in wasn't that great. Our room was directly on the main street of Lava Hot Springs (door and window facing the street and accessed via the sidewalk). I'm sure the town is really safe, but I really didn't like leaving my computer and camera in the room, especially because the deadbolt didn't work on my door. The room was also pretty rundown. The only thing that really matched the pictures was the headboard and wall color. We got a room with a large tub, but the tub wasn't very inviting and we didn't end up using it. The laminate of the tub was coming up and the tile surrounding the tub was cracked and dirty looking. Don't get me wrong, the shower worked great, drained perfectly and had solid water pressure. The room just seemed a little rundown, especially compared to the pictures. Even though we didn't use the tub in the room, we did use the outdoor tub. That was a really nice part of the hotel. The outdoor tub is near the river and is really nice and warm. It's surrounded by picnic benches and a really nice porch. I wish there would have been a couple of extra towels in the room, some to use for showering and some to use for going to the outdoor tub. The hotel is also in a great location, just a 1-2 min walk from the public hot springs. My boyfriend and I both had massages at the public hot springs and it was nice to walk just a couple minutes back to our room. One other great thing about the hotel is that they have free tea and coffee in the front office all the time and it is pretty good coffee. I would recommend this hotel to someone visiting Lava Hot Springs (and I would stay here again), because of the great staff, convenient location, and nice outdoor tub. I would just say that the rooms are a little underwhelming.

Our family loved the hotel! It was very quite and super clean! The tub was a hit with our kiddos! My husband and I love coming to Lava Hot Springs and we are going to plan a weekend getaway very soon with Home Hotel! Plus the hot springs are just a hop, skip and a jump away! :)

Terrific experience!! The rooms are clean. They are comfortably quaint and really makes it easy to relax, slow down, and take a deep breath of fresh mountain air!! Kathy is terrific and feels like that big sister you never knew you had. She made our stay wonderful!! We called for a last-minute reservation and she made that happen, then notified us when there was an opening so we could stay another night. We are so impressed with their "Home-y" level of comfort. Staff is great. Service is great. Front desk is great. Location is great. We will definitely come back!!

We stayed at the Home Hotel at Lava Hot Springs on a cold snowy weekend. They are located very close to the springs, it was just a couple of minutes walk to them from our room, we didn't even have a chance to get cold before we got there. We stayed in the room with a kitchen, it had plenty of cutlery, serving utensils, plates, plans, etc. It was nice to be able to make our own meals, we didn't have to leave our room except when we wanted to go to the hot springs. The beds were soft, at least the king was, we didn't try out the bunk beds. The room got quite hot at night, there was no way to control the heat in the room other than opening the window as the radiator was controlled by the office and couldn't be adjusted per room (we asked). The internet was slow, but it was free. The lighting in the bathroom was bad, it was quite dark. We are planning another trip to Lava Hot Springs before winter ends and we will be staying at the Home Hotel in the same room. Obviously, I recommend it, it's a great place to stay.

Lava Hot Springs is # 5 in this article about "Hottest" natural hot springs in the USA.   And by "Hottest" they mean coolest!  You know what I mean . . .

Thanks Phil! I'll investigate. I shot the video with my iPhone and edited it with iMovie so I wonder if there's a compatibility issue.
