Students enrolled in the Introduction to Psychology and Quantitative Methods courses this semester will be the first classes to use the new research pool software implemented by the School of Arts and Sciences. The research pool facilitates the process of research participant recruitment using SONA, an online cloud-based system that allows researchers and participants to sign up for and administer research studies. http://bit.ly/2xBhkof

On August 16, Dr. Roger Gee, Graduate Division Chair, TESOL Program Coordinator, and Professor for the School of Education, joined a panel at the School District of Philadelphia’s in-service day for English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers to discuss best practices for ESL students. With more than 25 years of experience in top Pennsylvania hospitals, Dr. Mary Frances Suter joins the faculty of Holy Family University’s School of Nursing and Allied Health Professions. With a specialty in cardiac and thoracic surgery, Dr. Suter brings vast knowledge of the heart with some local flair, having worked at Temple University Hospital, Jeanes Hospital, and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. When Matt Leszczynski ’10 and Michele Kennedy ’10 met at Freshmen Experience, the pair formed a connection that would last throughout their tenure at Holy Family University. As Nursing majors in their junior year, Matt and Michele ended up having the same schedule—from classes to clinicals—and even worked in the same hospital. As fate would have it, they ended up dating and eventually married in 2015. Avid travelers, the duo paid off their debts, left their jobs, and decided to see the world.
