Hollyburn just google them they've made the news many times due to there renovictions. I moved into Arbutus Court in Marpole and had to move out after 6 months the place was over run by rats and I was lucky but there were many notices about bedbug infestations. Kevin the resident manager and the caretakers Leo and Jessica would not ever spend the money to get proper care by a true professional pest company. Stay away from this pace.
Response from the owner - a month ago
Hi Craig, Thank you for reaching out again. Hollyburn Properties acquired Arbutus Court in October 2015. There were many outstanding deficiencies and maintenance requests at the building that, for the past three months, we continue to systematically address. We currently employ the professional company Solutions Pest Control to handle any pest related issues. We regret your experience at the building, and emphasize that Hollyburn is working hard to restore and manage the building to our standard. Regards, KM

Awful!!! - The building always smells like marijuana. - I can never make any kind of noise in my apartment (no matter the time) because the manager comes immediately and threatens to take me to the court or calling the police. However my neighbors seem to have a party almost every night. Make noise and listen to music until 4 am. - The manager does not work Tuesdays, Fridays or weekends, (even today, Wednesday she is off too) I can never get a hold of her. - We were promised a locker and a bicycle room. It's been over 7 months and we are still waiting. - We did get laundry machines tho (which is pretty much the only good thing about the building)

The managers are great! They always make sure the environment is comfortable for all the residents. We have lived here for three years and we love it here! It is super convenient with the mall 10 minutes away by foot, swimming pool and the gym are also great. We are happy to live here.

I moved into a Hollyburn apartment 5 months ago and it is my first home away from my parents, and on my own. Hollyburn has made the experience very enjoyable. I live in an 11 story building in Vancouver and I feel lucky to have had such success with my first place. The on-site property managers, Mirela and Mihai, are what make it. The building is always clean and I like how they decorate the lobby for every holiday. On one occasion, I had my purse stolen and the property managers woke up at 6 am to change my locks, without any complaint. Overall I can’t say enough good things about my new building.

The only thing good about living with Hollyburn is the location, either then that I would move out as soon as possible. The manager is never around, and stuff around the building, like stairway doors have been broken for months. Even worse is the "secure" locker area which has been broken in too 4 times in the one year I have lived here, and nothing is done about it, or even notified when break ins happen. Worst of all is that we have ants in our building!! And management says they are trying to get rid of them, but have done NOTHING.

Hi Tyler, thank you for reaching out and getting in touch. We appreciate feedback from our residents, as we are always trying to improve our processes and ensure a great living experience. I would like to look into your concerns further. Please e-mail me your building and suite number at katrina@hollyburn.com. Thanks again - KM

We lived in Harbourview and, aside from loudness and parties and marijuana in the building, the temporary managers are extremely impolite! One, by the name of Alyona, threatened to force us to pay an extra month's rent because we didn't clean our apartment enough for showing! The resident managers (who left for a better job) were not bad, but now there is pretty much no one managing anything. They have no mosquito screens, no gym in the building, no nothing except laundry!

The management staff is super friendly and helpful. They are easy to reach all the time. Building facilities are always clean and well maintained. The only down side is the wait time to get things finished in the suite. It is taking a bit longer than I expected. Otherwise I am really satisfied.

These are the reasons I love living at Hollyburn Properties: 1. When entering in our lobby you have a feeling of warmth and a sense of community. Everyone looks out for each other 2. The Facilities and amenities are always well maintained 3. Many units have been beautifully renovated including ours:) 4. Our building managers are attentive, friendly, and they work hard to keep residents happy 5. Rent is reasonably priced for westend living, and managers are fair with prices of rent increase. If they can they try to avoid rent increases to keep living affordable and fair for the residents. 6. I love that we have three balconies, and our living space has lots of natural light. I would highly recommend Hollyburn Properties to anyone who is looking for a well maintained safe and friendly building in the westend.

"The thing that I'm loving about the Hollyburn approach is that the building superintendent, and other employees of Hollyburn, have all bought in - significantly - and they treat and include our young people as real members of the community."

Doubling the cost of access affects everyone involved in Residential Tenancy Branch disputes. Let's hope these fee increases mean additional staff and resources for the RTB to operate fairly and effectively.

News like this reminds us that #renting  is significantly more affordable than ownership. In fact, the cost to rent a 2-bedroom apartment is up to 53% less expensive than owning the same space, according to data from CMHC (Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation).

Last night's 4.3 magnitude earthquake was felt across most of Vancouver. Thankfully not "the big one", the incident serves as an important reminder to be prepared in the event of an emergency. Here is our #Earthquake‬  Preparedness Plan, and what we do on an ongoing basis to ensure our residents, staff and buildings are prepared.
