This is a 2 half star rated hotel... We arrived at the holiday Inn quite tired from a long journey at 10am, May 2013 apparently 4pm was the check-in time for this hotel. We couldn't have a shower before picking up our tour to Grouse Mountain. The front desk staff were rude and we felt as if we were imposing in on them... We had to store our bags in an office and when we arrived back at the hotel later that day at 5pm our bags still hadnt been taken to our room and once again we were left to carry our bags which really angered me...we had to carry our bags to the room even though we had paid for baggage handling service. When I checked the rooms I found dirty towels in the bathroom and the floor in the rooms had not been vacuumed lint and bits of rubbish lay on the floor. I rang and complained they asked if we would like another room on entering the second room there was an awful musty mildew smell so we refused that room the 3rd was "ok" I would of preferred another hotel to be honest but at 7pm looking for one at that time no thanks what a hassle!! We had dinner in really expensive and the mains are just appetizers. I asked for more to be put on our plates... The hotel is one street from protown and there were often ladys standing around about outside one of them entertained us as she lay crying on the street telling her mob ph her problems...

The hotel overall is clean, rooms are clean and in a great location... Customer service on the other hand needs extreme work!..I had left my wedding ring and band in the bathroom cup when I took it off to go to sleep// When I called the hotel to speak with the manager rather than offering to send it back to me and cover the shipping(considering this is not shoes that I left) It took two weeks to get my ring back. I could not provide a credit card because I had been waiting for a new one in the mail. I had to call Purolator and have them send it COD. Which I had asked him to do weeks ago. Then to find out with Purolator that they have an account with them and he could have sent this long time ago. I was NOT impressed and not sure if due to this situation I would return to the hotel. Management was NO help or any customer service on getting this ring back to me. Better yet when my girlfriend called that stayed with me to try and get it sent back and let them charge her card that was on file...At first we are told that is fine and that he just needs to speak with her..then when she calls noone at the front knows what is going on about any ring....She tried to contact the Manager numersous times and after long phone tag he advised her that she now needs to do credit card auth forms that he will how exhausting. Oh by the way they also have a Fedex account which he wanted me to pay the cost to send plus approx $400 in insurannce cost. You can stay here and have a clean stay(breakfast is okay) Denny's is walking distance..but staff is clueless and management is even more clueless!

We reserved a room supposing that it was going to be the one in the picture, we were interested in the kitchenette it had but it never had one...we ended up paying even more in restaurants because of the wrong picture... it was too expensive to have just the beds and almost no tv.

The service was awful, the food was worse. The rooms were very nice, though.
