The Historic Scoot Inn was established in 1871 and has been an iconic East Austin landmark ever since. The outdoor music stage is arguably the best in Austin. This dive bar also servers cajún food from Vic & Al's in its large outdoor garden patio.

Eclectic indie bands & a dance floor in a happening, compact dive with 2 bars & lots of beer.- Google
"The live music venue is really nice and I prefer it over Stubbs and the like."
"I saw Mac Demarco perform here and the atmosphere was electric."

This venue is rad. It's open and there is a ton of space outside. Unfortunately , during live shows they turn off the taps and only serve beer in cans. They also charge six dollars for a regular size can of beer. I understand that businesses have taken to raising their prices during SXSW but during a local show ? Just seems crappy to me. Perhaps this is what Austin is becoming and if that's the case I'm sad.

Nice venue, easy to find parking, great space for outdoor shows and good selection of grub and drinks.

A bar that feels like a dive, yet somehow cleaner. The live music venue is really nice and I prefer it over Stubbs and the like. The bathroom (portapotty) situation is a little gross, but overall great experience in booming East Austin.

Got kicked out for closing tab and tipping. Bartender told me bluntly I did not tip enough. I explained that I was not done drinking and that I planned on continuing the night paying in cash, which of course would involve more tips. I offered to tip him cash on the spot right there and then. He would not accept my money. My buddy also offered to tip him on the spot. The issue seemed personal for some reason. Very unprofessional. Despite the bipolar bartender, the bar is nice and the location makes it seem hidden. Very nice atmosphere

So if you people aren't happy with your tip you just throw the person who tipped you out? Do know how low and scummy that is? That's even more rude than the person not tipping you at all. I've never been to your establishment but I can tell you after what I just heard I will make sure everyone I know will know how low, entitled, and awful the people that work there truly are. Stupid hipsters.

Great place to see a show. Good food, plenty of drinks, and a great atmosphere.

Didn't even get to make it in. I was throwing up across the street and when we got to the entry they denied me access. I didn't even get a refund for the pre purchased ticket to see a band. We had to walk from our downtown hotel through a VERY SHADY neighborhood that this place is in just to get barred. Ugh......

Where do I begin? Scoot Inn is one of a kind. From the amazing setting to the assortment of shows (spanning many genres) and events, Scoot Inn is among the premier entertainment venues in Austin. I won a contest for the Wild Child show a week ago and was given a bag of around $100 of merch and two tickets to the show. They are generous and even host events like a weekly movie night with free popcorn. Like indie? This is your spot. Like rap? This is your spot. Scoot Inn is a personal favorite of mine and I highly recommend it to anybody that likes a good time in a fun and friendly environment.
