Very nice form validation here. When you fill out the form for an online booking, you get green ticks when you move to the next field if the entry is valid, or red crosses if the validation fails.

Instead of doing all the validation when the form is submitted, it gets done after each field entry. Feels very interactive and comforting :)

Come join us on Tuesday in a live hangout on air, to talk about developing apps in/for Africa - taking into account our internet connectivity constraints.

Apps need to consider the African landscape, in order to work with it to give the user a good experience, we'll talk about the challenges, how to work around them, and take some questions.

Join the community and also lookout for our monthly hangouts :)

"The tablet is encased in polycarbonate, so that it can be dipped in chlorine and removed from the facility, and the server runs on battery power."

Wow. Oh yeah when you're done putting oil marks all over my tablet, just dip it in that chlorine... (seriously though, very cool stuff!)

We are helping doctors fight Ebola with a tablet.

We've worked with our +Google Crisis Response team and grantee +Doctors Without Borders / MSF-USA to develop a computer tablet that helps doctors record medical info from inside the high-risk zone and then send it wirelessly to servers on the outside.

I've had the pleasure to talk alongside +Alex Koller again, on Android and the Google Cloud Platform, at Cape Town's SPIN (http://www.spin.org.za/) meetup. I also enjoyed the discussions that followed. :)

+MWEB I've walked into 3 different malls (canal walk, cape quater, n1 city) this week and pleasantly just got connected to your uncapped WiFi. Loving it. Thanks!

+James Bester check out Bitnami. Ready-made stacks on top of Google Cloud Platform. I was meaning to look into compute engine template scripts for you to auto install LAMP etc, this looks pretty good though.

+Hiren Patel Yes there are auto deploy packages under console -> Compute -> Click to deploy, not as much as the link above though. But I am playing around with drupal at moment. https://cloud.google.com/compute/

A quick deploy of Drupal and then by adding mod_pagespeed I get "quicker than 97% of websites".

Even moving Wildbotswana.com over a few weeks ago to Google Cloud my webmaster tools is showing a significent drop in the time that the Google Bot spends downloading a page (in milliseconds), was averaging 1050 milliseconds on my old server now 250 milliseconds.

I Honestly can say that I am well impressed, there are cheaper hosting solutions out there but in terms of scalability in "Compute Engine" only (excluding App Engine, container engine etc etc), this does rock.

+James Bester seems the Cloud gods are listening to your plea's :D They are making it simple to deploy ready made open source stacks, over 120 of them already! :)

Introducing Google Cloud Launcher, a way to cut setup configuration time and get your apps to market in minutes using Cloud Launcher. Developers can launch more than 120 popular open source packages configured by Bitnami or Google Click-to-Deploy for Google Cloud Platform. Deployment is simple: users select a package from the library, specify a few parameters, and the package is up and running within a few clicks. Let us know what you think. http://goo.gl/XwIzbI

Cool. POP incoming should work, do you find it doesn't? As for outgoing mail, you have seen this yea? (https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/tutorials/sending-mail#postfixsendgrid). They support sending email out using sendgrid as a relay. This out the box though would be nice ;)

There's a lot I haven't played with, there are just so many new things coming out for Cloud Platform all the time, a lot of it I have a surface level idea about.

Haha, nice one +YouTube
The GIF was apparently the official answer Google sent to a reporter in response to his seeming scoop on a new YouTube livestreaming plan.

+afrihost 2 things around your dedicated hosting support that has not improved in years:

- Maintenance does not start on time, it's an hour delayed in this case
- Communication at maintenance time is non-existent

This happens to be a disk change, which can make for a nerving situation. I've asked the technician to be available over IM to communicate on progress and how the process is going, this is something you guys should really consider.
