My new blogging obsession... baring all for the sake of authenticity.

http://ourstylestories.com/2015/08/21/the-other-side-of-style-no-1/
I can't remember where I first heard it, but when I did, the thought just wouldn't leave me. Apparently, jealousy and dissatisfaction are far more common when comparing to things that are relatable...

In case you missed it, Gabriel's nursery is on the blog! (+ a resource list for most everything in the space.)

http://bit.ly/1HJsL9J
It took me eight and a half months to grow a baby inside of me and nearly half that to finish the nursery. #welcometomotherhood I guess. But Gabriel's room is finally done and I'm so happy with it!...

Today we go back and revisit my friend Misty who down-sized from her family's large historic house to a much smaller apartment. See how her style evolved with her life change.

http://ourstylestories.com/2015/08/25/misty-spencers-style-story-revisited/
Remember my friend Misty? I shared her Style Story early in this blog's history. Since then, she and her family have transitioned through some pretty major life changes, one of them being a signifi...

I'm bucking my own trend and talking about motherhood on the blog today by participating in a series called "Real Talk with Real Moms" hosted by a crew of stellar fellow bloggers. This month's topic is sleep and it's a doozy!

Spread the word to your pregnant and young mommy friends! There's so much to learn from one another.

I never intended to write much about motherhood on the blog. But then again, there are a lot of things a person never intends to do until their baby is born. Today, I'm bucking my own trend tempora...

Adding art to a space is my favorite part of the decorating process but it can be intimidating. Learn where and how I've found our pieces today on the blog.

http://ourstylestories.com/2015/08/07/7-ways-to-have-great-art-on-the-cheap/
In my experience, art is the single most important decorative element in a home. It tells the story of a home's residents better than just about anything else can. Generic, unconsidered art sells t...

What do you get when you mix a former art teacher with a cute house and an eager three year old? Hands-on decorating for the whole family!

More from the Cheek family Style Story on the blog.

I found Jane and Daniel Cheek via former Style Story guests Maryam and Jacob Salassi. Do you remember their brightly colored Dallas home? Maryam mentioned that Jane had a similarly creative and col...

I'm back to my old pattern mixing shenanigans, folks. Pregnancy spandex-ware couldn't keep me down!

Daily Wears No. 1:

http://ourstylestories.com/2015/07/06/daily-wears-no-1-post-pregnancy-patterns/
As the brain-fog of pregnancy and childbirth slowly burns away, so does my heretofore unrivaled love of black spandex clothing. Seriously, there's nothing more

Introduction
Hello! My name is Hilary Walker and I write stories that explore the connection between style and story through profiles of people with distinct points of view, unique personal style, creative pursuits, and ample heart. You'll find my musings at www.ourstylestories.com.

Besides profiling creative people for my blog, I work as an interior, prop, and fashion assistant stylist. I also contribute to Houzz.com and occasionally perform with Contemporary Dance/ Fort Worth, a modern dance company based in Fort Worth, TX. When I'm not working, my time is usually spent with a hot cup of tea, copious notebooks, my trusty laptop, darling husband, and puppy dog Ives. Oh yes, and I thrift like crazy!

I've been visiting the Animal Hospital of Southwest Fort Worth since my husband and i first adopted our dog at 2 months old. The staff has always been incredible kind and made efforts to remember me and my dog. Then, when my dog broke his leg badly, their expertise and gentle care helped him recover marvelously! I highly recommend.
