I recently started to use unwaxed kangaroo leather. It’s about 1mm thick and it’s got a great feel to it. This is a wallet project I recently finished using this leather.

Free downloadable pattern available, too!

Loved the movie "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" and thought I'd re-create the wallet that is part of the story. Without going all-out with the details, I made up my own version of it here.

here are a few more photos and details: http://highonglue.com/making-leather-wallet-based-secret-life-walter-mitty/

Trying out some dyes on dry kangaroo veg-tanned leather. Mahogany with some darker patches for a worn look.

Leatherwork – Handmade & Designed in Australia
Introduction
I love making cases for the gadgets that I have (I have a tech gear buying addiction) because most mass-produced cases and bags don't have the same quality feel as a handmade product. And it's a great excuse for me to take a break from designing things on the computer.

I'm also trying to document the way I make things so I can show the process on my website www.highonglue.com. Hopefully that will help you or inspire you to make something by hand, too. Something you can take pride in!

This profile will be updated with new work and work in progress whenever I make something new. Once I get to upgrading to a better camera, you'll also find videos on this page.

If you have any questions, let me know!
