It's a great location, and management really tries, but ownership is some sort of impersonal firm and in the end the ownership cares more about the bottom line than keeping GOOD residents happy. It may have once been a 'luxury' apartment complex, but the place isn't any more. The appliances, for instance, are decades old and old and simply terrible. Doors and cupboards are so loud you can hear your neighbors at all hours, and if they aren't particularly respectful you can hear (and feel!) everytime they shut anything. They allow smoking on balconies, which means if your downstairs neighbor smokes, your balcony, and subsequently your apartment, will reek of cigarette smoke. Again, the apartments are very old, and smoke seems to seep through everything and into apartments from people smoking 'outside' on their balcony. There seems to be a change in direction, as many new tenements are young and loud, throwing parties after quiet hours and filling the clubhouse with booze and crassness (and I'm not easily offended). At least one of our neighbors is a blatant drug dealer, cars were broken in to, bikes stolen... all purported to have 'never' happened before. Also told harassment that we were subjected to by neighbors had 'never happened before' and complaints about noise from anyone but us had 'never happened before.' It started to get pretty obvious we were just being fed BS, and I suppose even so there's a first time for everything and just about ever negative 'never happened before' occurred in the 6 months of living there. It's a great location, nice view, but the community is really nasty and getting worse, and the apartments are simply no longer 'luxury' as advertised. The ownership doesn't seem to care enough to maintain any semblance of 'luxury', unless you think them refusing to pay 15 dollars for a new remote to the [very, very old] clubhouse TV is luxury, lol. I've lived in some pretty sketchy, terrible places, and Highland Springs has been the worst of all... especially paying a premium since they bill the apartments as 'luxury.' I think the only regret of my life is moving to this hell hole.
