“New Hampshire Hospitality at its finest!”
5 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 days ago NEW
Pecco didn't know what he was getting into when he answered my husband's email regarding rail-to-trail biking in New Hampshire! He helped us fulfill our dream to bike from B&B to B&B in New England. He not only recommended B&Bs, but charted our bike routes to keep us on less hilly terrain (not an easy feat in New Hampshire), arranged our lunches and dinners, bike rental, transportation and more! All of this BEFORE we even stayed at Highland Lake Inn! Our two-night stay at Highland Lake was pure New Hampshire hospitality! We felt pampered, but also like we were part of the family. Dinner with Gail & Pecco was not only delicious, but was like dining with old friends! We even experienced a barn dance of sorts in the beautifully renovated barn at Highland Lake Inn--highlighting just another one of Gail & Pecco's charitable involvements in their community. From introducing me to Harney Teas at our impromptu afternoon tea on the front porch to recommendations for daily outings in the area to the beautifully appointed, comfortable room to the incredible meals made with only the freshest ingredients to all of the lovely conversations--we felt that we truly experienced genuine New Hampshire hospitality! Now, we just need to figure out when we can get back to visit our new friends Gail and Pecco again!

Stayed October 2016, traveled as a couple

“Relax knowing that you are being marvelously taken care of”
5 of 5 stars
Pecco and Gail have created a spectacular bed and breakfast that is unsurpassed for quality, cleanliness and comfort. I have had the pleasure of staying there many times and each visit has deepened my appreciation for for the beauty and depth of the hospitality they provide. A diverse group of us stay ever year over the same weekend while we visit our children at a local camp. And as our relationships have deepened within the comfort of the Highland Lake Inn and through the easeful welcome we all receive, we have developed a lovely and unique little community. It crescendoed this past weekend when we all decided, collectively, to cook our dinner at the inn rather than heading out individually to local restaurants. Pecco took some of us shopping and gave us a brief tour of the area (stunning) and in short order we were all enjoying a spontaneous dinner in the breezy and beautifully renovated barn on the property. The culture and intellect of the innkeepers combined with the colorful guests made for one of the most memorable and relaxed evenings of the summer. We all retired to our beautifully appointed rooms, slept in luxurious beds and linens and all awoke to another one of those fabulous breakfasts that they are famous for. Gail and Pecco genuinely enjoy and joyfully embrace their hard work as hosts and the authenticity of that joy combined with their deep roots in the community make for a tremendously meaningful and restorative experience.

Room Tip: Each room is unique and as lovingly appointed as all of the rest.

“A Wonderful B&B”
5 of 5 stars
My wife and I have stayed at many B&B's and the Highland Lake Inn is in the upper tier. The are lovely. The inn keepers are charming. Breakfasts were delicious. I told Pecco and Gail that we would return the next time we were in the Andover area and I meant it!
