My son and I had a great experience at this hotel. Everything was clean, all of the front desk staff were helpful and professional, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice perk. There is a diverse and nice clientele here, and a lot of families with small, well behaved children. The pool and jacuzzi are open until 10 or 11pm, as is the gym, and there is a free business center with a printer for patrons' convenience. A complimentary USA Today paper is available, and there is an attractive sitting area next to where they provide the breakfast. There are free local and long distance calls, and check out is a breeze with absolutely no surprise charges (even though I was 13 minutes late checking out). Each room is privately climate controlled, so you will be comfortable no matter which temperature you are comfortable at. The best part? The luxurious beds and bedding and the, flat screen TV with HDMI and USB outlets, and free reliable wi-fi in each room. For the price and service, you just cannot beat HIE Stroudsburg. To note, there is an amazing and very reasonably priced restaurant called Landmark Cafe only 4 miles away in East Stroudsburg, and Camelback Water Park is 25 minutes away. Our absolute favorite attraction was Pocono TreeVenture, which was pricey at $50 per person, but worth every penny. They allow you to do any and every course you choose for 2 hours, and you can zip line at the end for $5 or $10 extra, also totally worth it (they give you a refund if you chicken out). The safety and helpfulness of the young staff really add to the value, and you will have irreplaceable memories. (Yes, they are in their phones and aren't overly warm, but they help you when you ask, and they are very good at their jobs). Take your cell phone in a cargo pocket (secure it well!) because they no longer take pics on the course. They are only a few miles from HIE, about 15 - 20 minutes, and no reservations are required, though you may want to call and see how busy they are. There was no wait the Saturday that we went, around 2pm.

My experience is a little different from the average guest. I am a ex-employee "Voluntarily". "Clean" Yes but your next place to work consider yourself a modern day slave....Management changed in the 5 months I work there to a rude, unproffesional, individual not even liked by the other employees which was expressed in previous meetings before her return. My time was finalized when I applied for a different postion that I was more than qualified for to lose it to her family member "SON" who was fired in the past. Discrimination and prejudice was my first thought, the second thought was a career change....Needless to say I am extremely happy with the decision to make this experience a memory BUT not before I share it with You....Housekeeping you guys are GREAT! Front Desk you guys are GREAT!

Stayed here for work for a short week. Overall a very good Holiday Inn. The room was clean and everything worked in it. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent. My only complaints are the elevator smelled like body odor (weird, but it smelled for about 4 days) and the remote for the tv was unable to tune directly to a channel, you had to hit channel up or down to get to the station I wanted. I would stay at this hotel again without a doubt. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby which is a huge plus.

This place has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in or attempted to stay in. I booked this hotel a few weeks ago, and after reading a few reviews which varied from great to poor, I decided to book just for a quick weekend getaway. After all, some negative reviews are expected even at 5 star hotels. But this place truly earns a 0 star! We checked into the hotel around 6PM today, the hotel looked nice and the room was even nicer. But upon walking in, the room was about 25 degrees hotter than the hallway. I immediately went to the air conditioner and turned it up, it started blowing out hot air. I was like something is wrong, so I called down to the front desk and reported the problem. 5 minutes go by, another 10 minutes go by, still hot air. I call the front desk again as my infant daughter is now sweating, and ask for the status of the maintenance guy. He shows up a few moments later and concludes that the thermostat on the unit is broken, so we will have to switch rooms. I get a call from Dawn (I am assuming the shift manager) who informs me that I have 2 choices, stay at the hotel in the hot room since they are fully booked (at a discount - minimal) or leave and get a refund. I asked if there were any other alternatives, any sister properties that we can be relocated to or anything? "No there is nothing we can do about it. All other Holiday Inns are independently franchised" So our choices were to stay in this extremely hot room, or leave... I mean this is a major inconvenience, for us to leave and try to book another hotel room on the same day. One, the added cost would be almost double (Since we are booking same day) and two, would there even be rooms available? Obviously staying here (even at a discounted rate) was not an option, the room was literally over 90 degrees. They didn't even offer a deep discount either, they offered a nominal discount. So we opted to just leave and find other accommodations. And to add insult to injury, on the way out, Dawn had the nerve to say, "oh these rooms are 4 person max capacity (my brother and sister dropped by our room to meet up to head to dinner)" I reply "i am just staying here with my wife and daughter, what's your point?", "i just see a lot of people coming down" she replied. She automatically assumed that we tried to pack 4 people into a king room. So lets break this down, 1. you just gave us and ultimatum, stay or go. And 2. you are assuming that we are breaking the rules of the hotel? She obviously has no place working in hospitality and has no shred of any customer service experience. Needless to say, I will never stay here ever again and you should stay away from this unprofessional, unmaintained and obviously poorly staffed hotel.

My father and I are staying here for the next couple days for work. After one horrible day of staying at the Staybridge Suites, about 10 minutes from here, we decided to stay here instead. Coming from one hotel to this one, it's like night and day. This hotel is wonderful. The staff is amazingly friendly and so helpful. One of the housekeepers that clean up the breakfast buffet even went out of her way to get me somethings to eat, even though it was after 10 and breakfast had ended at 9:30. Not to mention the ladies at the front desk are especially friendly. They did everything they could to help us which is 100x more than the other hotel did. Rooms are great and so clean. The quality is amazing as well. I have not used it yet, but the pool is also clean and looks very nice. So far, our stay has been overall amazing and I definitely recommend this hotel if you're in the area.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Stroudsburg is not your grandfather's Holiday Inn. This is a modern hotel loaded with the latest amenities. The management and staff are very helpful and friendly. A client I recently referred to this hotel had a great experience as well. I recommend this property highly!

Room is big clean and updated, beds are fine. Breakfast and coffee are terrible. Staying on the weekend and the walls are very thin, noise from neighbors (you know who you are), noise from hallway. I'll take clean over quiet any day, but will not stay here again. Not at this price.
