This can't work as an engine ever. You only get the energy out you put in. In this case it's the kinetic energy from the hand starting the spinning. The moment you would apply a dynamo or something it would very quickly stop spinning. Also I'm 100% sure this shown device stops spinning after a while even without anything attached to it from friction.
They are really expensive so I thought about making some myself. But that may become too much work for only one person. I wonder if their LAN Protocol is open so people can make their of apps for it (like that IPV6 internet of the things thingy). I would really like to buy it but only for a better price.
