OMG! Google+ Has Ruined the Profile Photos Tab
Dear Google Lords,
What on earth have you done? It used to be that I could organize my photos into albums, and then my friends and family could easily navigate to my profile and click on the Photos tab and see them. But not anymore. Instead they are presented with some gibberish looking garbage in that looks like the Photos->Highlights section. My friends and family can no longer see my albums
, but rather a list of photos from posts by date (the date of the post becomes the date of the "album"). The photos that really
count for something are buried. I've complained about this in your official help community and submitted feedback and have gotten no response.
So, today I spent HOURS moving these random photos that would appear on my profiles "Photos" tab into their own album, so that they would vanish from the Photos tab, allowing my ACTUAL albums to reappear on that tab - but in the end I realized that only a few albums actually showed up there.
I have a multitude of albums that I personally took the time to organize, but many do not show up at all, and those that do are our of chronological order. WHY?
So, I return to the useless and pointless Highlights section thinking that I might just have to "highlight" those albums, but there is no option to do so. :(
The only work around is to go to my settings and manually REMOVE my photos tab, and then add a direct link to my albums to my "About" tab on my profile, which is stupid because the Photos tab is supposed to serve a specific function and it no longer does.https://plus.google.com/photos/+RobertAngle/albums
^ THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE SHOULD SEE WHEN THEY CLICK MY PHOTOS TAB ON MY PROFILE.
This is a serious issue, one that if left without correction, will force me to transfer my albums back to Facebook (blech!) or some other service that allows me to organize my photo albums just the way I wish
Google, I am so appalled with you right now! The feelings of irritation run very high because I have been a staunch advocate of Google Plus from the beginning, and this issue with the Photos tab is nonsensical and inexcusable. I don't really want to have to abandon ship.
(for the record, it behaves like it should on the mobile app. it is the web version that is whacked out and doesn't allow visitors to find my albums)
To anyone else reading this, what reputable sites for hosting and sharing photo albums can you recommend today?
