A is for apple! And apples make me think of autumn. September is still a month away, but I can hope that the heat of August goes by fast! My daughter and I have been busy making apple crafts recently in preparation for the upcoming change of the seasons. For a fun craft with your child, try making apple cores with toilet paper tubes, paint, construction paper, and pipe cleaners.

I am super impressed with my new silicone bear placemat, silicone baby food storage containers, and heat-sensitive baby spoons from KiddieBobs. The placemat and containers consist of non-toxic high-quality FDA-approved silicone free from BPA, phthalates, PVC, lead, and latex. The cutlery consist of the highest quality food-grade non-toxic PDA-approved polypropylene free from phthalates and lead. The dishwasher-safe placemat makes mealtimes a little less messy. The silicone grasps to the flat plastic surface and does not slide around like regular plates. The baby food storage containers make cooking homemade baby food easier with the wide openings and rounded bottoms of the compartment openings. The ergonomic handles of the cutlery are easy for my son to grab, and the soft tips fit perfectly into his toddler-sized mouth. If your baby is learning to eat solid food, I highly recommend all three baby feeding products from KiddieBobs!
I absolutely love using silicone products in my kitchen. Silicone is non-toxic, so I feel comfortable using silicone utensils and dishes with my children. Silicone is also non-stick, which makes cleanup a breeze. I additionally love that my kids can drop silicone kitchenware onto my ceramic tile floor without breaking the silicone or the floor. […]

If you are shopping for an art set for your child, I highly recommend the 53-piece children’s drawing and activity set from #USArtSupply. At just $5.96, the set is an absolute steal! The set comes with twelve washable markers, twelve colored pencils, twelve oil pastels, eight color changing markers, four highlighters, one ruler, one eraser, one pencil sharpener, one mechanical pencil, and one pencil lead pack. All the items are non-toxic and child-safe. My kids love the markers, especially the color changing markers. I am incredibly impressed with the high quality of all the art supplies and would definitely buy another set once my kiddos use up all the pieces!

I am incredibly pleased with my new strand of warm white globe outdoor solar LED lights from LightsEtc. After initially charging the solar panel fully for 12 hours, the battery lasts well into the night. I love that I can put the strand anywhere in my yard with full sun instead of needing to run extension cords through my grass. The stake secures the solar panel into the ground, and hanging the lights was fairly easy. The lights come with two lighting modes (continuous on or flashing), which allows me to customize my light display. The solar panel charges the battery during the day and the built-in sensor turns on the light automatically at dusk, so I never have to worry about turning the lights on or off. If you are a fan of Christmas lights and are shopping for a solar powered option, I definitely recommend the strand of LightsEtc warm white globe outdoor solar LED lights.

I am a bit obsessed with solar lights. I love that I can put lights almost anywhere in my yard with full sun most of the day without having to run new wiring or extension cords. I also love decorating with Christmas lights. I adorn my entire home with lights in during the winter holidays, […]

I am super impressed with my glass water bottle from MIU COLOR. I can fit an entire four-cup pot of coffee in the bottle, which is constructed from heat-resistant high borosilicate glass. The handmade bottle and stainless steel with food-grade rubber ring contain no BPA, PVC, lead, or other toxic chemicals. The heat-resistant bottle holds up to 24.5 ounces of liquid and comes with a Nylon zippered sleeve. Once I realized that I could put the entire pot of coffee in the bottle, I was hooked. The Nylon sleeve makes carrying the bottle around easy and protects the durable glass from breakage and my hands from hot temperatures. If you are shopping for a new water bottle, I highly recommend the MIU COLOR glass water bottle.
I prefer to use glass in my kitchen because glass is non-toxic and dishwasher-safe. I recently review two foldable large picnic blankets from MIU COLOR, both of which I love. My kids and I often eat picnic lunches while out and about at the park or zoo. When on the go, I usually also bring […]

The Duck and the Hudson River Museum features a rubber duck outside the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers, New York. At the beginning of 2013, I made a resolution to post a weekly photograph of a rubber duck. Because my daughter loved rubber duckies so much, my goal was to post a picture a week […]

If you are shopping for new paint brushes, definitely give the oil and acrylic paint long handle artist paint brush set with canvas roll-up storage wrap from US Art Supply a look. Made for acrylic and oil painting, the set comes with twelve white synthetic nylon brushes and twelve natural hog bristle brushes. Each style comes with one flat brush and one round brush in six sizes. In addition to the twenty-four paintbrushes, the set also comes with a khaki canvas brush roll-up storage wrap. I appreciate the two different types of brushes and the different sizes, which make all types of art projects easier. A few bristles did fall out of the natural brushes during the first use, but I am still fairly impressed with the quality of this set. I also like the canvas roll-up wrap, which keeps loose brushes from floating around my art supply cabinets.
My kids and I absolutely love making crafts together. Our most recent long-term project is to make as many alphabet paper plate crafts as possible. Most of the crafts require some sort of paint. Many of my paint brushes have seen better days, especially the brushes that my preschooler daughter uses for her artwork. Thus, […]

With hot soupy summer weather here, my kids and I stay inside during the day, venturing outside only in the evenings. I have quite a few solar lights set up around my yard to provide lighting and ambiance. I love stringing up Christmas lights during the holidays, but I also decorate my house for all […]

If your child is a fan of Finding Dory, then the National Geographic Kids “Dive Into Summer” learning set is perfect for you! Both my toddler and preschooler love looking at the full color photographic illustrations in the nonfiction Ocean Animals: Who’s Who in the Deep Blue. I am also looking forward to sharing National Geographic Kids Ocean Animals Sticker Activity Book with my daughter during homeschool lessons this fall. Both kiddos absolutely adore the Dory plushie, especially my daughter who got to see the movie in the theater. I therefore highly recommend the “Dive Into Summer” set from National Geographic Kids!
I have always loved National Geographic. I remember flipping through the pages of the magazine as a kid. Now that I have my own children, I also love the products from National Geographic Kids. I recently review an “Explore the Outdoors” set of materials from National Geographic Kids that my kids and I absolutely love. […]
