It is so easy to miss out on real rest. We get so busy we forget to slow down and spend time regrouping. When we do slow down, we stress about what we should be doing, what we aren't doing, or what we didn't get done. This is NOT real rest. Read Stephanie's post to find out more.

Do you feel worn down? Like you need a break but you know that's not going to happen? Maybe the problem isn't in our schedule, but the way we define rest.

Someone recently sent me a text that said their email wasn't working. I was confused. How can people, productive adults, function without email? I hate email, but I don't know what I'd do without it. It's one of my many connections to the world. It's an open line of communication and my news source. And I read it at my computer or on my cell phone.

All of this was going through my head moments before I read Laura's post for this week, so it hit pretty hard.

We are surrounded by our own choices. And sometimes those choices become idols.

Find out more at:

When every thing is at our fingertips, it's easy for technology to transform into idolatry. Check out this post where Laura J. Marshall shares more...

Do you ever feel like you're running in quicksand?

It's easy to get so busy that we feel like we are drowning in our own to do lists. On our blog today, Jaime Hampton is sharing how instead of fighting harder to have it all, do it all, be it all, God has been teaching her to be still and wait for Him.
Do you ever feel like you're running in quicksand? Instead of fighting harder to have it all, do it all, be it all, try "be still and know that I am God."

Life lessons... from the cat? Sure enough. Mary Findley is on our blog today sharing 5 life lessons she has learned from her daughter's cat.
Ever heard of a hearing-aid cat? I hadn't either, but she's been taught me more about life than I would have thought. Here it is: Life Lessons From The Cat.

I get asked frequently about resources for younger girls. Girls that aren't little anymore, but aren't teens yet either. So today, I wanted to share my top 3 choices for pre-teen/tween devotionals for girls. These are books I trust enough to let my own tween daughters use.
Pre-teen / Tween devotional recommendations for girls from Heather Hart, mother of four, and internationally best-selling, and award-winning author of the "Teen Devotionals... for Girls!" series.

We were warned about the danger of becoming lukewarm, but did we really take it to heart?
Is your faith fresh or stale? Sometimes we become lukewarm Christians with stale faith, not by becoming inactive, but by losing the awe of God...

Sometimes I get so busy doing stuff FOR God, that I fail to slow down long enough to spend time WITH God. Do you do that? Read more about what I've been learning in this post... (Oh, and there's a giveaway at the end)
Heather had been neglecting her quiet time, and what she discovered was that she needed to start investing in it. Read about her journey in this post.

I love this! My longing for God's presence varies from time to time, but I think it's always under the surface and God uses different things as heart triggers to draw me back to Him.

Find Your True Beauty... in Christ!
Introduction
I am an internationally best-selling and award winning author, book lover, and author coach at TrainingAuthors.com. I love working from home where I spend my days typing away at the computer, brainstorming new marketing ideas, reading new books, and encouraging those around me.

My desire is to help others successfully publish and market their books while continuing to author, contribute to, and market multiple book marketing and faith-based books myself - and to have fun doing it!

In my free time I write devotions for teens girls for the website, FindYourTrueBeauty.com and volunteer for multiple other Christian websites. When I'm not reading, writing, or marketing, I love spending time outdoors and seeing God's beautiful creation all around me. I currently live in Texas with my husband, Paul, and four energetic children.
