I just posted a recipe for my favorite summer salad - seared halloumi, caramelized peaches and cherries, served on a bed of arugula. Seriously, can we all just bask in the sun and eat deliciously ripe fruit all year round.  http://www.flourishingfoodie.com/2015/07/seared-halloumi-caramelized-peach-and.html
Did you guys watch the Bachelorette finale Mon night? Don't worry, I haven't seen it yet. I usually watch it on Tues, so I can stream from Amazon, but last night I had the last of my hideous birthing classes, where they tell ...

Savory Cheesy Potato, Corn, and Zucchini Galette. A new post on the blog today. http://www.flourishingfoodie.com/2015/07/cheesy-potato-corn-and-zucchini-galette.html
This weekend was hot. I mean really really hot. Cold showers and ice water were not cutting it, so, as a last resort, I drove to Target to buy a kiddie pool, but they were all sold out. I tried to buy an AC, but they were all...

For the past few months, I have been slowly making my way through the Sprouted Kitchen's new book - Bowl and Spoon. I've got to say that this book is top notch. Today on the blog I am sharing my favorite recipe from the book - the Popeye Protein Bowl. Intense flavors, fresh ingredients, light yet substantial. All around, good eats.http://www.flourishingfoodie.com/2015/06/the-sprouted-kitchens-popeye-protein.html
If I had the option, I'd almost always choose to eat my meals out of a bowl. Unless we're taking about pizza, and then I'd choose to eat it off the wooden paddle straight from the oven, with a slightly charred bubbly crust, m...

Cream cheese and macerated strawberry toast is the new avocado toast! At least that is what I am telling myself. Recipe up on the blog. http://www.flourishingfoodie.com/2015/06/cream-cheese-and-macerated-strawberry.html
I'm back! After a little two week vacation with my family, mostly just relaxing and eating here in Seattle, I am feeling rested, inspired, and excited about making some delicious food. It's so important for me to pick up on c...

I've got a new recipe up on the blog for the easiest pound cake. Top it with some sweet ripe summer fruit and a dollop of whipped cream!
I know that lately it may seem like there's been a lot of baby talk around these parts, and I swore that I wouldn't be that person, but guys, it is consuming me right now. Sometimes a girl just needs to talk about it. I think...

If you're feeling the same way I am - not wanting to turn on the stove for the rest of the summer, but debating whether or not you can really live off of ice cream? Try making these mini cast iron skillet Triple Berry Crumble, right on the grill! So easy, and you don't have to heat your house in the process. Unless your grill is in the kitchen, and then I can't help you.http://www.flourishingfoodie.com/2015/06/triple-berry-crumble-on-grill.html
I've declared my house an 'oven free zone' for the rest of the summer. Slightly dramatic, I know. Maybe I'll allow some light simmering on the stovetop at night, but NO ONE will dare turn on the stove until this baby makes hi...

Have you heard of alfajores? They are little soft lemon cookies sandwiched together with dulce de leche. Think macarons, but a little more dense. Today I'm sharing a recipe on the blog from Try The World curated foods boxes! http://www.flourishingfoodie.com/2015/06/argentinian-alfajores-with-dulce-de.html
Oh booyyy do I have a recipe for you. Have you heard of alfajores? They are little soft lemon cookies sandwiched together with dulce de leche. Think macarons, but a little more dense. Last month, or maybe the month before, th...

I finally got around to posting an update on my Edible Garden project! http://www.flourishingfoodie.com/2015/06/introduction-to-my-edible-garden.html
Here's a little update on my backyard edible garden project. I had every intention on building thousands of planter boxes, hanging raspberry vines from the roof, using every workable space for this garden, but it turns out th...

My favorite way to make guacamole - smash together avocados, garlic, lime juice, and salt. Serve with a generous portion of plantain chips. A recipe for both, up on the blog. http://www.flourishingfoodie.com/2015/05/plantain-chips-and-guacamole.html
I love plantain chips and guacamole SO MUCH that often times I'm not even interested in eating guacamole with plain old tortilla chips. I know, right? It's a seriously obsessive commitment to plantains. Behind our old apartme...
