This easy and quick recipe is inspired by my days as a waitress while in college at Northern Michigan University. The restaurant was steps from Lake Superior and Thill's Fish House, where they're still selling their fresh daily catch of whitefish and trout. This recipe is a staple at my house and my daughter has loved it since she was a toddler.

Garlic Shrimp, Tomatoes over Penne Parmesan -- Lovely shrimp sautéed with garlic then tossed with pasta and dressed with a parmesan lemon sauce and marinated tomatoes ... this recipe is a slice of heaven. And it's easy and quick. It may have a few more ingredients on first read but they're easy ones to prepare. Just get them all ready and in front of you. You'll have fun adjusting the levels of garlic and parmesan cheese the next time you make it. And you will, often. It's that good.

Roasted Sweet Potato Fries - Here's the perfect, nutritious side dish to try tonight. It pairs well with anything, especially a less colorful protein like whitefish or pork. Why not get your family's taste buds wrapped around sweet potatoes instead of white ones, tonight! https://go.hffk.info/2GC5fnR #healthy #healthymeals #healthykids

The "sloppy joes" origin lies with the "loose meat sandwiches" sold in Sioux City, Iowa in the 1930s created by a cook named Joe. My grandmother, named Bertha, created her own recipe adding her German influence. It's quick, so fragrant and it's one of those dishes that tastes better reheated the next day. While beef is called for, I make it all the time with ground turkey - a great substitute.

Keep unhealthy snacks out of sight…or at least out of reach. And make healthy snacks convenient. Keep fresh fruit on hand or stash pre-cut veggies with a favorite healthy dip up front in your refrigerator.

Easy, delicious and fast! I found this recipe in a 1990s Bon Appetit magazine and have been making it ever since. The mustard sauce pairs well and the crunchy top compliments the soft salmon. Everyone will know you're an amazing home chef when you serve this dish. It will soon be your go-to salmon recipe.
