There are lots of fascinating people out there, with stories waiting to be told, small but important and inspiring ones that wouldn't make it necessarily to the big media.
That's why as a journalist and a photographer interested in human stories, I'm proud to be able to share with you that the team of the new journalistic platform Beacon Reader is opening its doors for me to launch a project called "Extraordinary Everyday New Yorkers," where I'd have the chance to scout the 5 boroughs of New York in search of riveting subjects and create (two times a month) in-depth photo essays (with text and photographs) about a person's life/work to share exclusively with my audience on that platform.
But in order to make it happen, I NEED YOUR HELP... Beacon Reader is a subscription based model. For the launch of my project, I need to reach 150 initial backers in the next 15 days. Subscription starts at $5 a month, with several other reward options that include $100 for a one year subscription plus a signed 8x10" print of a limited series of one of my photographs. Or for those of you in New York, $300 would bring you a one year subscription, the signed print, AND...one hour of me taking your own portaits/headshot (already a great value).
And an important BONUS... when you back "Extraordinary Everyday New Yorkers" you are also getting full access to every other project, story and writer on Beacon, which includes many relevant topics and talent from around the world. So that's a LOT of good journalism every month for the price of a latte.
I'm proud I shall be the first invited photography-based journalist joining the Beacon Reader project and if this initiative works, it would hopefully open the doors for more photographers/visual storytellers to create their own photo-based projects in the platform
So if you are able, please help fund me and this project, and share to your circles if they could be interested as well.
Thank you so much!
And have a wonderful day!
