whoa....

Could a paper bike helmet (shown here on the left) offer more protection than a traditional polystyrene one? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-25681895

The inspiration behind it comes from the natural world, in particular the woodpecker.

5 reasons why our Facebook followers should give G+ a try

We currently have 175,000+ followers on Facebook and only 9000+ followers on +Google+.

This will be posted on the +Sauber F1 Team FB page later today (full post below). Would you agree that the majority of FB users is not aware that G+ is more about the WHAT and not so much about the WHO?

Original Facebook post copy:

Have you already given Google+ a try? Here are 5 reasons why you should:

1) Find like-minded people

While Facebook is a great platform to connect with your friends and family, Google+ is perfect to discuss your favourite topics, like Formula One, with like-minded people. Easily search and find pages and communities that cover your interests.
► G+ IS TOPIC-DRIVEN.

2) Google+ is very visual

G+ comes with a modern-looking interface. It allows animated GIFs and the presentation of pictures and videos is very appealing. If you’re a visual person, you’ll love Google+.
► G+ LOOKS GREAT.

3) Get your interest feed

You all know the social feed that Facebook presents you with when you log in. G+ and the vast array of interest-based communities fill your feed with what you’re interested in and not with what other people want to talk about.
► G+ FUELS YOUR MIND.

4) Great F1 community

The biggest community dedicated to F1 on G+ has close to 25,000 members. Our “Official Sauber F1 Team Fan Community” on G+ closes in on 1000 members. Find interesting information, other fans’ statistics and more.
► DISCUSS ON G+.

5) www.google.com/+sauberf1team

The Sauber F1 Team has started using G+ early last year, and we love the platform! G+ allows us to actively get in touch with individual fans and makes it easy for us to connect with our fans.
► INTERACT!

So: Why use Google+? As www.huffingtonpost.com puts it (see link below): “It's WHAT You Know, Not WHO You Know”. Our recommendation:
► GIVE IT A TRY!

Hi.......
I have some questions related to ultralight trikes........
A) What power engine will lift the trike in the air?????
B) What is this talk of a Rogallo wing?Is it really special.......or is it just a delta (or kite) shaped fibre glass/canvas?
C) Does an ultraight trike maneuver through moving the WHOLE wing up/down.......or through elevators (like in airplanes) for pitching.........and weight shifting for rolling........Am I also correct in understanding that these trikes cannot yaw?
Thank you!

Sorry for the delayed response.
Trikes usually fly by moving the center of gravity in relation to the wing. (Weight shift.)
The wing is attached to the trike with a pivot mount, and the wing has a tri-bar like a hang glider, so the pilot can move his or her weight in relation to the wing to induce a change in pitch or roll. Some trikes have a rudder, ailerons, and an elevator, some only have one or two control surfaces, but by far most of them have none and rely upon weight shift only. The size of the control surfaces vary greatly, but the rule of thumb (if there is one) is around 1:18 surface/wing.

Check THIS!!!

This 1989 laptop was more than 20 years ahead of its time.

The Psion MC 400 had the first touchpad, removable solid state disk drives, and a claimed battery life from 8 AA alkaline batteries of 60 hours.

Looked great too, at a time when PCs and laptops were all ugly as sin.

It was priced in the UK at £845.00. That would have been about $1,400 at 1989 exchange rates. It reportedly sold fewer than 1,000 units.

Well..........always room for improvement, Google (I suppose that Microsoft is a 'dead' company)........

Apple's Keynote is Beautiful

Wow, now I've done the last couple of #presentations for #business groups using Google's Presentation, since the topic of the presentation was Google related.

But Monday I'm doing a workshop for an #Apple based workgroup, so of course I'm creating the slideshow using Apple's Keynote, which is now iCloud based, along with the other iWork apps Pages and Numbers.

Man I have to say Keynote is sweeeeeeeeeeet!!  Powerpoint and Presentations got nuthin" on #Keynote

Sure, I can get the same end result in any of those apps.  But oooooh, my sweet goddess, the interface on Apple's apps is still so, so, sooooo much more pleasing and user friendly.

And you all know I looove Google stuff, but geeze louise there's a big difference.  Google's going there though, as evidenced (I think, anyway) by the newest Hangouts interface.  Much better.  Less white, more black, can I get a Hallelujah!!

I also love the new #iMovie, which I had to grudgingly get when I loaded #Mavericks. Now I'm so glad I did, lol, it ROCKS!

Apple makes their apps for people who would rather figure out how they want their presentations to look and feel than figure out how to wrestle stuff into place. Just look at that beautiful, ridiculously easy interface. I will most certainly be taking advantage of this app more often!

And to think I was worried for a minute there.
