WordCamp Greenville is a reality and it all developed from a WordPress meetup group that I started many moons ago. So proud of the group's efforts and what the 'Camp means for WP-ers in South Carolina! I'll be attending and it would be great to see you there too. Get a ticket, come find me, let's connect and chat! https://2018.greenville.wordcamp.org/tickets/

Due diligence when it comes to website security can not be stressed enough. This is an action item packed article from Wordfence explaining best practices when dealing with plugins on a WordPress website. The main gist of the post is don't have more than you need, delete what's not being used, and do some research before slapping that plugin on your website. Be cautious and be smart when it comes to website security because it can cost a lot of time, money, and effort to get things back right again. http://ow.ly/4Uch30gvpWh

Security threats come in all forms. Just last week one of the big 3 credit reporting agencies was hacked. That resulted in over 140 million people to have their personal data exposed to thieves on the Internet. Companies will not keep your individual information safe because it is not cost effective at this time (hopefully it will someday), so be personally vigilant with security.
Here is a first step. Use two factor authentication when possible. Implement 2FA on a WordPress website to add another layer of security to protect online assets. Read through the post that explains 2FA for WordPress and feel free to contact us with any questions. https://harvestersolutions.com/use-2-factor-authentication-to-add-another-layer-of-security-to-websites/ http://ow.ly/i/yMGRE http://ow.ly/i/yMGS0

Meetups are one of the most beneficial networking and learning tools that I could ever recommend to folks looking to be more involved with what they do. The WordPress Pasadena meetup group is an excellent example of a well run group where answers and honest help can be acquired. I strongly recommend attending this meetup if you are in the WordPress space and in the Pasadena, CA area. Plus, it's a good warm up for WordCamp Los Angeles the following weekend (9/30-10/01).
