To Whom it May Concern,
I am writing this email to let you know of my recent ongoing experience with your event staff at the Harvest Inn. In July of 2015, I inquired about wedding venue and catering services offered by your hotel. A contract was signed and a substantial deposit was made. Due to unfortunate circumstances, the wedding, which was to be held October 15, 2016, was canceled 10 months prior to the event.
I am writing to let you know how extremely disappointed I am in the way that this cancelation was handled by your staff. There was absolutely no consideration of how difficult of a time this was (and continues to be) for me, and for my ex - fiancé. Harvest Inn did not budge on the no - refund policy. Even though they had nearly a year advance notice of cancelation and absolutely no services were rendered, the deposit still remains in your hands.
I have been checking in monthly to see if the date has been booked, and if there has been any change of heart regarding the refund. I received no response to my most recent follow up email.
Up to this point I have been patient, polite and cooperative. I am no stranger to the Harvest Inn. I have attended weddings at your venue, have stayed there myself and recommended the hotel to multiple friends and relatives. I would’ve have thought that for a such a high - end hotel and venue site, the response to the devastating news of a canceled wedding would have been much more sympathetic. I expected at minimum an offer of half the amount refunded. Instead I continued to be told, “Nope, sorry. Refund is not possible.”
I will unfortunately never be staying or visiting the Harvest Inn again. I will also not recommend it as a site for a wedding venue to my friends and relatives who are getting married. I am very disappointed as I would expect a place like the Harvest Inn with the reputation that comes with being a hotel and restaurant in Famous Napa Valley to have higher standards for customer service and higher compassion for such horrible news.
