Fried fish, afternoon tea, a wife whose parents originate from St Helena...I laugh. What else can I claim as British knowing full well it's been taken from the Portuguese?

In case anyone is curious of my lack of social media activity, I am not in the best of health right now. I will be back.

Been feeling quite rough for the last week.

Tonight, Gloria and I went to a favoured kebab shop.

I had a large burger meal and Gloria a chicken wing meal. £10 for both.

Who said the British pound cannot buy as much any meal. A takeaway cost me more last month!

The kitchen Radio/CD/USB input/iPod etc player died last week.

The replacement I bought didn't even work - even when the shop tested it when I took it back for a refund earlier today.

No other shop sells anything half decent.

What is it with high street retailers?

Online I go, then!

Let's make online retailers great again! ✌️

A day off work tomorrow.

Enjoy yourself, they say at work.

If only - it's a day of workmen visiting the house and domestic chores.

"Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone" (Pablo Picasso).

That electricity bill can wait until tomorrow. I'm also at ease with not putting up that shelf. (J/k 🤣)

Gloria and I went to Buckingham Palace but the Queen was out.

Never mind.

Getting in is like going through airport security and that gave Gloria and one member of staff much amusement.

My belt buckle and my jacket were both sending the metal detectors off like crazy. For a moment, I thought I would have to take all my clothes off to prove I wasn't armed.

Starbucks consoled us both with coffee on the way home.

Don't men matter when it comes to childcare?

mamas & papas only bother with lighting for the mamas, so it seems.
