Let me start by saying that at your hotel I had experienced the worst value/price ratio I have ever seen. And I have stayed at many hotels in US, Europe, and Asia. Just for the room and parking we paid $200 per night and the room was shabby, not very clean, and extremely loud. On top of everything our window was broken. Our friends who were staying the neighboring room had the toilet broken. So the stay started with calling maintenance to both our rooms. The conditions were so bad, that all of us in fact left a night early without asking for a discount or refund just because we wanted to leave because we were uncomfortable. But the worst thing of all is that I was charged someone else’s bill. At the check out the lady never asked me for approval of the bill. She charged my credit card but I quickly noticed that I had a charge at the bar listed on my account. I never visited the bar. I notified her about the mistake and she refunded me. Later when I arrived I noticed a very huge pending transaction on my credit card, which I did not recall. I called the back and they told me that on top of the $410 bill that I already paid, Harrison Hot Spring Hotel and Spa was charging me another $600. THIS IS SOMEONE ELSE’S BILL! The money is dated Dec. 30, but I just checked in on that day! I live in the U.S. and it is extremely inconvenient for me to call you, because I do not have an international calls plan. On top of everything you overdrafted my bank account! Neither me nor my friends will ever come back. I will do my best to tell as many people as I can to never stay here. I also have a column in a small newspaper in Washington (6000 readers). I will makes sure to write a note about my wonderful New Year’s vacation.

Hi Olga. Your card was charged with a pre-authorized amount based on your reservation. This is customary procedure with hotels in North America, and internationally. You were billed only for the charges incurred. Credit cards usually take 3 to 5 days to update billing - we have not control over this. So your credit card should reflect the most changes in the next day or so. Please note we have no access to your bank account and it is impossible for us to overdraft it. The cost of a room is not just for the room itself, but for the resort to maintain the grounds, the numerous pools and the spa. Older rooms, in the heritage part of the building, are more budget friendly. Rooms in the east and west towers are more modern. Also, we provide a toll free number for anyone to call us across North America - it is noted on our website.

It's the 1st. time for both me & my husband. We were both very disappointed with the schedule of the pools. We are early birds and was hoping the pools could open earlier before 8:00 am, like maybe 6:00 am, and NO KIDS allowed between 6:00 am~9:00 am. It's not enjoyable at all with all the pools always full of people and on top of that, screaming kids !! BTW, The color curtain in our room was very dirty, looked like had not been washed for many years. The lake view from our room was the only thing we enjoyed. Unless their pools ever change to a better & improved schedule, or else we do not plan to go back.

Harrison Resort is a family destination and it has been for generations. We try to accommodate our guests as best we can with adult only pool times in the evenings. We will be sure to share the feedback with our staff.

We paid 200 for a night at this resort. What a rip off. Need major updating! The hallway on the 8th floor we stayed on stank body Odor! It was disgusting. The room doors closes and locks are not very smooth. So you hear every other people entering their rooms. The furniture in our room was really worn out and the carpet long the wall appeared dirty! Not good!. When we arrived at the reception, there were tons of people, and really noisy kids. We could barely hear the lady behind the front desk. I will not comeback ever. Overrated big time.. spend just a little more money and go to Sparking Hills in Vernon.

Harrison Resort has been a family destination for many years. We love seeing families grow and bring the next generation to visit us. Though, we know adult time is important too, so consider using the pools during adult hours or off peak visits during the week.

Stayed in during Aug 2014. Over priced for what you get. The only nice rooms are in the East Tower. The rest are more 3 star equivalents. The Breakfast Buffet is worth the money. Don't bother dinning in. There are better quality restaurants walking distance from the hotel. Burgers pool side are 12$ for a very basic burger. My wife and I have been coming here for 14 years, there is definitely a slow decline in quality over the years. This is possibly due to overseas - Asian owners, who took over a few years ago. Still nice, but not what is used to be. The star of the show is the lake and the hot pools.

I have been here a few times in the past 10 years. In my impression, the room was "outdated" as described by other reviewers, but the outdoor hot pools, the lake and the mountains were enjoyable. So I took my kids and girlfriend back again yesterday. It was a rainy Friday. Even though it’s a weekend, who would stay in the pools under the rain? So I expected it shouldn’t be that busy. But I was totally wrong. We’ve got a lot more people (immigrants, international students and tourists) pouring in Greater Vancouver these years, you will absolutely see this in Harrison Hot Springs. If I would come back again, I would definitely try a week day, not a weekend any more. The hotel check-in is 4pm, check-out is 11am. I was afraid that the kids might not have much time to stay in the pools. So we arrived at 3:50pm. I was trying to unload kids and our luggage at the hotel main entry but could not find a spot for my car. There were 5 cars on the drive way, 4 of them were shut off with disappeared drivers. There’s one car on the left lane unloading, which was blocking the traffic behind. It would be nice for the hotel to assign a staff to manage the traffic during peak time or at least put a big sign. We stepped in the hotel at 4pm, waited over 15 minutes in the line until our turn. The lady said our room was not ready yet but the maid was already in it and cleaning. She did not give me the key right away. She said we needed to wait for 15 minutes in somewhere else. I asked her how I could get the key, she said you would be called. We waited for about half an hour and realized the weirdness; I then went back to the lady, she handed me the key. Yes, we waited in the line for over 15 minutes, checked in without the key. Waited at somewhere else for about half an hour, lost patience, asked for the key and got it from the same lady. It is okay if the room is not ready at check-in time but I think the situation could be handled better by all means. We stepped in our room at about 5pm. Kids could not wait to go to the pools. But we found we had no bathrobes. I checked with the maid who I met in the hallway, she said the bathrobes were running out of and suggested to call the operator. I did. The operator said that the bathrobes would be delivered to our room but she had no idea how soon it could be, she suggested we go pick up at the front desk if we were in a hurry. I talked to the front desk after a waiting in the line again. The lady said that we could wait in the room for the delivery. I explained, she said “let me see what I have” then went to the back office. After a while she went back to me with the bathrobes before I gave up. Thanks goodness. The hotel had a new policy; guests would have to wear a wrist band in the pools. We did but we saw quite a few people didn’t. In my opinion, a policy without supervision won’t be a policy. After some fun in the pools, the kids rested in our room. My girlfriend and I would like to have some private time in the lobby. But we saw a person comfortably laid down in the couch in front of the fireplace in the lobby which was obviously a public area. We checked out at 11:50am today. The bill was $281.15. Honestly, our room in east tower was not that bad (it looked like the hotel had done some renovation) and the kids were happy with the stay, but I could not wait to go to home.

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us Jack. We experienced our busiest holiday season ever this past Xmas/New Year's and welcomed many families seeking staycations in B.C. We do hope you return. Mid weeks are always quieter than weekends.

We woke up in our cabin at 7:00 a.m, with our infant daughter, to discover that the tempurature was the same inside the cabin as outside; 12 degrees celsius (54 fahrenheit). Visits by two different parties determined that the heat was not working. Not the end of the world. What was truly surprising was the reluctance, at checkout, to acknowledge that this constituted a problem at all. Presistance, after an offer of nothing, resulted in an offer of 7% off our room bill (for an outdated, bare-bones 279$ cabin). More persistance led to an offer of 18% off our room bill.

Given the cabins' setting and the last few days of cooler weather, the temperatures are more difficult to manage. If our front desk staff had been notified right away, we could have tried to resolve the issue, however by check out, unfortunately, there are only a limited number of resolutions. Thank you for sharing your feedback. We will be sure to discuss it with our staff.

Its really trying to be a 4 star resort unfortunately the only thing that is 4 stars is the prices. Cons: The walls are thin and our neighbors are noisy. We can definitely sing along with their music and can keep up with their conversations. The beds are firm, like padded plywood floating on springs firm perhaps I am spoiled with my pillow top mattress at home... But my wife and I are having problems sleeping on the beds lots of tossing and turning and the neighbors are not helping (it is 12:43 am as I write this rolling around on the bed) We booked a lake view room in the West tower as we thought it being one of the most expensive rooms it would be nice or that we would at least have a decent view.... Well we are located on the bottom floor by the elevator with kind of a lake view between the trees and the floating Waterpark. Don't get me started with the pedestrians that can look right in the room... What's the point of paying for the view if you have to close the blinds for privacy? "view" rooms should be at least on the second floor. Pros: The pools are nice if you can tune out the screaming children. The adult pools are not that far from the "family" pools. LCD TV is decent... Amazing shower it's the best part of the stay! the shower is small and odly segregated from the rest of the bathroom tucked away in a separate room with the toilet but it has amazing water pressure. All in all: It's not all bad... But the value is off if the rooms had comfortable beds and a little more sound suppression they could get away charging the current rates but come on the pools do not make up for the 2 star hotel attached to them.

Hi Tyler - we appreciate your feedback. We have many rooms to suit a variety of budgets and lifestyles. In the summer, we tend to have many families visiting with children. Many of our patrons prefer to stay near the ground floor as it offers quicker and easier access to the grounds. Consider reserving a room higher up in one of the towers on your next stay.
