ROFL
Microsoft recently entered a partnership with CNN, which dictated that the network's presenters will be given some free Surface Pro 3 tablets to use on live TV and, in turn, serve as advertisement for Redmond's "laptop killer". Unfortunately, the campaign effort may have backfired badly, as today, Twitter exploded with screenshots from the CNN elections night live broadcast, which shows that the presenters and journalists are either still using t...

How to not be a industry reference and leader

Today I played a little bit with the Note 4, and was really disgusted by it's software.

Every app has a different look & feel and different design styles. It's so unorganized and inconsistent. None of them follow any Google design guidelines, and look like they were made by amateurs.

This really worries me, because Samsung is the main Android OEM. The average person who wants to start with Android, will probably buy a Samsung device. That's why lots of people that I know say that "iOS looks a lot better than Android",  "Android is slower", "Android isn't polished", and "Android is more confusing!". Sure, with all this crap ware that Samsung introduces, it's totally damaging Android's image.

I will probably never buy a device with this kind of software in it. I really hope that Google introduces some strict policies for OEMs to respect  certain aspects of the operating system.

Sigh.

Beautiful, yes but it makes me quite angry.

Yes, I was compensated when the keyboard goes free with 10 free themes, that were very terrible. Fast forward to today, they make two themes that are really gorgeous which follow Gkeyboard's material design theme but with a price tag. This is the default theme in Android lolipop (5.0)!

I'm interested to hear what my friend has to say about this. I know he bought Swiftkey keyboard for tablet but didn't really get any compensation for it after Swiftkey announce tablet support for the previously non- "tablet optimized" keyboard, right +Firdaus Wahid ?
Download two Material Design themes, inspired by Google's guidelines, from the SwiftKey Store: Material Light and Material Dark.

Not for me I guess. Not sure if I didn't try it longer than a week but can't stand the mistakes two days into using it.

I see a lot of people asking "Why is there no clear all button in recent apps?".

There is a simple answer— Google doesn't want you closing your apps. Android has a powerful task manager built in that manages app resources for you.

Another reason Google might not have added a clear all buttons is because it's just a bad UX decision. When switching back and forth between apps and doing important tasks, it's very likely that you will accidentally hit the clear all button and lose the work you were doing.

Google doesn't want you losing your work, which is why they keep your recent apps list persistent even after a reboot.

I couldn't be happier that the Nexus 6 costs $650. It means we can have honest conversations about this phone. It means no more "but it's the best for the money" reflex responses if there are actual flaws with this phone. It means Motorola and Google are actually making money on this phone. It means the phone is available everywhere.

This is exactly what I have always wanted from the Nexus program. It will be available everywhere and it will be compared point for point with the other flagships out there without any caveats or excuses. Bring it on.
Instead of the cheapest, most powerful phone you can buy with Google's pure Android experience, the Nexus 6 is a flagship device.

I will be joining Tour Istanbul this 14th November. How nice of +Turkish Airlines to offer this tour for free. It's really awesome because we can spend time visiting places rather than waste it in the airport. This is epic tourism strategy. Definitely. Two thumbs up.

Just FYI, I will be going on a trip to European countries and I will fly with Turkish Airlines. I purposely chose the itinerary that allows me to join that tour. =D

P/S: you have to scroll to the end of the page and look for Tour Istanbul bubble (or something that you can click.)

I hope they both die in this battle, leaving only Google with chromebook. hahaha

Microsoft really doesn't want you to buy a MacBook Air
Microsoft reignited the classic Mac vs. PC war back in August by targeting the MacBook Air in its new Surface Pro 3 ads. That attack is continuing today thanks to a new ad that features Lenovo’s...

So, people are willing to pay $649 for a Google Play Edition but shit themselves after seeing the price of the Nexus 6. Good luck with that.

There you have it, naysayers.

I thought I'd just drop this here. A few lesser known but interesting facts about the Nexus 6:
+ This is not the same camera sensor as on the new Moto X (thanks!). The Moto X (2014) uses a IMX135 while the Nexus 6 uses the more capable (and newer) IMX 214 - both by Sony. The latter is a stacked CMOS sensor with Exmor RS for better low-light performance. Also the Nexus 6 adds OIS and a f/2.0 aperture. On the paper Samsungs Note 4 camera should still be better (it has an IMX 240), but we'll have to see until more actual photos done with it pop up - I guess.
+ It will have an "ambient screen" mode. Google lists this is in the battery specs but doesn't detail what it is. My guess would be something similar to the Active Notifications of the Moto X.
+ I comes with Motorola's turbo charger included (you have to buy this seperately for the Moto X)
+ You will get six months of free "Google Play Access" (I guess they mean Google Play Music All Access)
