My husband and I were extremely happy with our accommodations and the service provided by Don and his staff, Diana and her husband. Don is a wonderfully gracious host and very helpful with area recommendations. Diana and her husband who assist in many efforts are an absolute delight. We stayed in the Captain's Nook the first night which was very comfortable and cozy then moved to the Carriage House the second night which was equally comfortable and also much larger. We enjoyed tasty 3-course breakfasts on the outdoor patio. This being our first trip to Maine, we were unsure about staying in Southwest Harbor but we found the drive to area attractions was reasonable and were happy that it was a quiet residential area away from any hustle and bustle! Highly recommended! We will return on our next visit!

The inn keeper Don along with his staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. This Inn is clean, well kept and has many amenities not found other places as coutesy ( round the clock tea for example, a wine refrigerator resonably priced) breakfast was amazing. ....well presented not your usual scrambled eggs ..blueberry crepes, fruit bowl , a home made muffin , sausage ....amazing ...I wish we had found this place before we ended up in a chain hotel , we only stayed one night and didn't want to leave !

Enjoyed the accomidations, however we arrived just a wee bit late in the season. We were not aware that practically every kind of tourist business closed the week after Colombus Day. Don at Pier One is a great host, the room was clean, bright, and we loved staying on the water.

We found Pier One to be a lovely spot - directly on the water and very relaxing. The room was beautifully decorated and the hosts were wonderful. Would definitely consider coming back if we're in the Mt Desert Island area again.

Solid comfortable and affordable. Great local near South West harbor. Some suggestions would be to have more soap on hand and perhaps invest in better windows and insulation between floors. Pretty noisy at night between traffic and late time comings and goings with renters above us. Other than that- very nice.

Don and his staff made this a very special event for us. We had no experience with the area and originally were looking at Bar Harbor. But now that we have been there we would agree that Southwest Harbor is the best place to be if you want to be close to Bar Harbor but avoid the summer crowds. But what made it even better was this inn, the food and the staff. Could not have had a better stay.
