Netflix just released a three part mini-series "interpretation" of the domestic terrorist events that have occurred in Germany over the last 15 years. NSU German History X is a depressing, fascinating, and well acted piece of film-work now seeing the light of day. Although challenged in it's ability to pull together the history of such a complex series of events, Part 2 seemed the most plausible to me and a very touching look at the family of one of the murder victims. http://theeurotvplace.com/2016/07/nsu-german-history-x-true-crime-miniseries-headed-to-us-uk/

For further insight check out the essay below.

A wonderful Gothic bouquet of dark Americana and folk atmospherics at the 7th St. Entry this week featuring the vocal and songwriting talents of Marissa Nadler. I particularly enjoyed the delicate recital newly juxtaposed with fresh, plugged in guitars and steady percussion. Despite awkward musical descriptions from the indie scene and a clear association with the doom-metal genre, Marissa brandishes a convincing folk aesthetic for the 21st century. The latest release Strangers is available on Sacred Bones Records. PS: I had my rosary just in case…ha, ha.

A singular writer and thinker, Rebecca Solnit celebrates the unpredictable and incalculable events that so often redeem our lives both solitary and public. She searches for the hidden, transformative histories inside events we chronicle merely as disasters, in places like post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans. She writes that, so often, "when all the ordinary divides and patterns are shattered, people step up to become their brothers' keepers. And t...

Thank you so much for the discount on the room. To end twelve days on the NC trail and prepare for a Marian retreat in quiet, foggy Lake Michigan fashion is really appreciated. Great service and commitment. I would also recommend the location in Munising.

St. Paul's wonderfully peaceful atmosphere and spacious enviro is the perfect place for a midday break. The lunch buffet caters to a diverse palate... you will find something very tasty. Excellent soup, lamb, rice, salad, and baklava desert. I really enjoyed the company!
