Battery charge savings If you run Microsoft products on Mac OS X Yosemite on newer 2011 onwards MacBook Pro's. Unsupported but seems to work. Give the MS products the chance to let go of the high performance GPU - gain battery life.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/office-for-mac-mavericks-high-performance-gpu/e1a6aff0-e36e-40ae-ab62-aa7e3e0c6b10?page=2

Tried this on Lync and Outlook. No adverse effects except Lync asked several times on first launch the permission to use the Keychain. Lync no longer on the list of battery high and my battery lasts for several hours more.

At your own risk...

Today in History: Apple II Computer Debuted at Computer Faire
On April 16, 1977 — 38 years ago today — the Apple II debuted at the first West Coast Computer Faire. The Faire was organized by Jim Warren of The Homebrew Computer Club, which was an early computer hobbyist group in Silicon Valley that included Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak (the founders of Apple). In order to launch the Apple II as a consumer product (rather than just a computer for hobbyists), Jobs understood that the product needed to look “simple and elegant,” enclosed in a sleek case made of light molded plastic  — not something that could be fabricated in a standard metal shop — and that such design would require significantly more capital than they could borrow, so Jobs attracted investor Mike Markkula (a 33 year old, retired millionaire who had made money on his stock at Fairchild). Markkula ended up playing a critical role at Apple for the next 20 years; he shared Jobs’s vision of Apple building a product to revolutionize the world and bring the power of computing to every individual. The Apple II was the first product offering in this direction.

I think yes. With phones like Nokia's best it's easy to take "great pictures". So now everybody thinks they are great photographers and maybe we are. Meaning it's hard for us to appreciate the difference to true professionals and/or artists. ("Professional" is not quite the same as artist, but not too different either, they know their art). Same thing is happening with digital music, easy to produce without knowing much.  But who can hear a new tune in their head, and see a new viewpoint for a photograph, and then implement them with the best technique possible?
