<3 Love it. Except for one minor but a serious error: the inappropriate term "hearing impaired." Should be "Deaf and Hard of Hearing". I'm sure Turkey will pick up around the World Congress of the WFD this summer.

See how cute a four year-old girl describing the shape of a heart. Translating from ASL as: "I want a big heart (describing the heart's shape). Happy Valentine Day!"

Technology is one factor leading to a fall in the size of the deaf community - and the need for sign language. But can technology also be its saviour?

A list of hearing society's double standards...
Deaf is OUR chosen moniker to signify OUR wholeness in a world that constantly tells us we are broken.

There are some wonderful hearing allies. Also, we don't forget that for past hundreds of years Deaf people have made sacrifices of endless time and resources to fight for human rights, captioning, driver's license, sign language in education, policies and rights with United Nations and E.U., recognition of sign language in governments, rallies, fundraising for hearing interpreters, initiating cultural programs, Gallaudet protest, and all sorts that don't bring them profits but human rights and equality. Hats off to Deaf people.
