On their 30th anniversary, the Phil-Asia Assistance Foundation, Inc. made the second Philippine screening of “Right Footed”, a documentary about the life of Jessica Cox, possible. Jessica is Handicap International’s ambassador, the world’s first armless pilot, a taekwondo black-belter and motivational speaker.

Screening is on February 4 (Saturday), 4:30 PM at Cine Adarna, UP Film Institute of UP Diliman in Quezon City and tickets are still available for P300. Proceeds will be used for the educational assistance of underprivileged children.

​​IN PHOTOS: Distribution of hygiene and shelter kits to the Nock-Ten affected residents of barangays Cabcab in San Andres municipality and Kilikilihan in San Miguel municipality. More than 300 vulnerable households (women-headed households, households with pregnant/lactating women and households with persons with disabilities) were reached during the said distribution; more than 90 of which are persons with disabilities.

The consortium of Action Against Hunger, ACTED and Handicap International, together with local partner Simon of Cyrene, started distributing hygiene kits to 177 vulnerable households including those with persons with disabilities in barangay Kilikilihan in San Miguel municipality, Catanduanes province. In the coming days, the consortium will go to the municipalities of Bato and San Andres to distribute additional 1,673 hygiene kits to vulnerable households.

On Christmas day, Typhoon Nock-Ten (local name Nina) made first landfall in Catanduanes and moved on a westerly track affecting 15 provinces and four regions. Assessments has been made and now we will be distributing hygiene kits for persons with disabilities who are affected by the typhoon in Catanduanes. Joining us in this action are international organizations Action Against Hunger and ACTED and local NGO Simon of Cyrene, our longstanding partner in the province. Photo from PAGASA.
