Today's Tails from the Front article offers tips on managing separation anxiety with your dog.
A common issue many dog owners face is that they must leave for work each day and cannot bring their beloved pet with them. For many dogs, this may mean up to eight to nine hours alone at the house. Some dogs adjust to this schedule very easily, but others may struggle with separation anxiety. In the worst cases, dogs may become abnormally loud and destructive in the household, or they may show signs of depression.

Our 2nd Annual Mutt Strutt was a blast on the beach! Nearly 1,500 people attended, along with hundreds of dogs! Everyone enjoyed a beautiful morning on the World's Most Famous Beach, and over $35,000 was raised for Halifax Humane Society!

Protecting Animals in the Greater Daytona Beach Area Since 1937
Introduction

Halifax Humane Society, the 2012 National CLASSY Award winner for Animal Advocacy & Services, is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization servicing the Greater Daytona Beach area in Volusia County, Florida since 1937.  It exists to protect animals from cruel, neglectful, and exploitative treatment.  Halifax Humane Society is an open-door animal shelter that refuses service to no animal in need.

As one of the largest humane societies in Florida, Halifax Humane Society provides a full array of humane programs that allow it to provide service to nearly 25,000 animals each year.  Through generous donations of time and money, the Halifax Humane Society provides shelter for lost and abandoned animals, delivers humane education to its citizens, creates a pet-friendly environment in its local community, and prevents overpopulation of animals by offering affordable spay/neuter opportunities.
