My standards come from being Vietnamese. This place is Americanized. The prices are $4 more than authentic Vietnamese joints. It's price reflects the image and not the food quality or quantity. We had the combination pho and pork chop. They offer no sizing options for pho. They don't have housing or sirracha sauce at the table, instead just a bottle of soy sauce and chillie sauces. The decor is very modern and clean. Semi upscale looking. The pho was mild in flavor. It lacked the aromatics from the star anise and cloves in authentic pho. The portion size was that of a medium bowl. 2/5 rating. The pork chops was good but it was the pan fried version. I prefer the grilled style. It was the lemon grass type of marinade. 3/5 rating. I come from Orlando. Orlando has a greater Vietnamese population. Unfortunately, we're stuck with little options around Ft. Lauderdale. I recommend if you are desperate for Vietnamese.

It's an okay "authentic" Chinese joint. It's very basic and caters to the American crowd. It's the best you are going to do in the Tampa area if you are craving real Chinese. It's certainly better than your local fast food Chinese (shopping center/plaza) joints. They charge you for rice. That's usually a red flag for me. I live in Orlando and if you want a 4/5 Chinese joint, check out Tasty Wok.

I reserved a room at the InterContinental Tampa through Priceline on 20141212. The deal caught my eye because it was rated as a four star hotel for $70.00. I was excited, and immediately booked it. I was severely disappointed by my experience. First of all there is no complimentary cookie. This might sound peculiar, but its the small things like giving your guest a warm baking good to welcome them that makes the visit special. Remember, this is a four star hotel. Our room wasn't any nicer than a three star hotel around Tampa. The marble desk in our room had dry ring stains all over it, and our shower tub clogged up the mid ankles. I'm relieved I did not pay full price because this was not an experience that I will want to remember.

I'm reviewing this against other Chinese take-outs. I ordered the pork fried rice, beef and broccoli, and chicken wings. The only reason I ordered the fried rice was because I saw a picture of fried rice on their website. It looked like genuine fried rice (stir fried with eggs), and not just colored rice. I was fooled. Their stock image was false advertisement. I opened the box and was severely disappointed. Not only was the rice fraudulent, but the "pork" was suspicious. It was cut in small squares, white and rubbery. I couldn't tell if it was genuine park or some sort of tofu or protein substitute. The beef and broccoli was below average, and their friend chicken wasn't as crispy as other places. The worst thing about the wings was when you split the wings into flats and drums, the connective parts were covered in this bloody goo. I felt sick looking at it. These Chinese take-outs are getting lazy, especially in these poor neighborhoods where people don't know any better. I recommend No 1 Chinese in Colonial Heights.

I left my chromecast behind the TV when I moved rooms. For those who do not know what a chromecast is it is a little flash drive sized adapter that connects through the HDMI port. It allows you to stream pictures and movies from your mobile device to the tv you have it attached to. The manager said the cleaning lady only found the power adapter to it. They did not see anything attached to the HDMI. This was after only one night after I moved out of the room. The manager said that no one had even checked in so that leaves the cleaning lady as the only possible person to have taken it. Don't trust the house keeping, and don't leave your valuables in the room. Of course the manager doesn't offer to do anything to amend the problem. Request for the first or second floor. Using the one elevator to get to your room on the third floor is annoying. The breakfast is bad. They have only five different items for breakfast: potatoes, scrambled egg squares, sausage, bacon, boiled eggs. I only ever eat the boiled eggs. The fruit salad taste rotten. None of the fruit taste like their actual fruit. The internet is terrible. At peak hours it is 0.50 MB D/L. I have Verizon and I there are no good LTE reception in this area! Do not come here if you have Verizon. I tried tethering the internet to get by the slow hotel internet, but even Verizon's LTE was slow. I'm having a horrible experience here. If it wasn't for my work paying for it, I would've have left as soon as I checked my reception.
