Engagement Portrait Paint War Story
We received a phone call from a couple wanting an engagement portrait. They asked if we had ever photographed a “Paint War”. Well my mind immediately went paintball and thought it was a bit strange that they would want to shoot guns at each other during an engagement portrait and how difficult it would be to photograph. She sent us a few links of engagement paint fights. Wow, it looked like so much fun!
They wanted to use the photos for their “Save The Date” cards.
We worked with the Aditi and Sanket to make their dream a reality. I know it sounds sort of sappy, but it was.
Paint Fight Engagement Portrait
Part of the fun was in the preparation. They had no idea where or what type of paint brushes, backdrop etc. they might need. We suggested a few stores to them for supplies. They brought the paints and canvas, and we provided the place to make it happen. The entire process was so much fun, we would do again in a heartbeat.
They arrived the day of the portrait with a friend for support, ready. We all set up the background and canvas together. The “painting” started off timid and coy, kind of “nice”. They painted the wedding date, a heart, did some spattering, and we photographed the process. With the formalities out of the way, it was time for some serious painting. They started painting each other. I ‘m not sure who was having more fun, them or us. Every shot was better than the last.
I think we were all happy with their first masterpiece in their lives together. We were happy to be part of this event, and enjoyed the entire process. It was great working and meeting Aditi and Sanket.

“But you know why I REALLY do what I do?
To photograph your parents, who will hold hands and cry on the first row of the chapel. To photograph your sister dancing with that boy she will marry…”http://www.huffingtonpost.com/anne-almasy/resolution_1_b_2761883.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003&utm_hp_ref=fb&src=sp&comm_ref=false
