While in Jerusalem, a delegation of African-American community leaders from the Southeastern United States visited Hadassah-Ein Kerem where they received an in-depth briefing on the differences between the Israeli healthcare system and the American Affordable Care Act. In the Judy and Sidney Swartz Center for Emergency Medicine, participants then viewed the building’s preparedness measures for chemical and biological attack and in the Charlotte R. Bloomberg Mother and Child Center learned how the lobby can be converted into a back-up emergency room to treat victims of mass casualty events. Their visit was sponsored by the American Israel Educational Foundation, the charitable organization affiliated with AIPAC, and arranged by Hadassah’s Influentials to Israel Program.
