Cape Town has plenty to offer when it comes to tourist attractions – which is ideal for your guests so they can enjoy all there is to experience in addition to celebrating your Wedding Day!

Finding and booking wedding venues should be on the top of your ‘to do’ list as a bride-to-be. Wedding venues are very high in demand and if you are planning to be wed during peak wedding season, securing your dream wedding venues is a top priority.

When you are choosing wedding venues, try to compare the settings by thinking of elements such as the season, size of your wedding, price range as well as their available wedding packages. You will find that most wedding venues are much cheaper during the Autumn and Winter months.

How to choose your wedding venue:

Choose whether the ceremony and reception will be held at separate wedding venues or on the same premises. It would also help to establish how traditional you would want your wedding to beEstablish a rough amount of guests you would want to invite. Some wedding venues might have limitations as to how many guests they can cater for and this might eliminate some of you venue options.Pay a visit to the venues if you can, the overall setting and ambiance will be able to give you a feeling of what you want.

At most wedding receptions, the main entertainment is in the form of a DJ or band. But what about guests who don’t like to dance? Let’s face it, a wedding reception can sometimes be a little boring for those folks. That’s why we went on the hunt for easy party games you can add, ranging from individual projects to table games to group activities.

1. Corn Toss Sets

Corn Toss is quickly becoming one of the most popular wedding games.

How To Play:  Players take turns throwing bags of corn toward the hole. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches the score of 21.

2. Giant Jenga

I love Jenga – it’s fun to try and slip out the bricks and stacking them without tumbling down the pile.  It’s relatively easy to make these too if you don’t mind a visit to Home Depot, cutting lumbar and sanding the rough edges.  Giant Jenga sets can also be purchased if you’re not crafty.

How To Play:  Jenga is played with 54 wooden blocks. Each block is three times as long as its width, and one fifth as thick as its length.  During the game, players take turns removing one block at a time from a tower constructed of 54 blocks. Each block removed is then balanced on top of the tower, creating a progressively taller but less stable structure.

3. Burlap Sack Races

How fun would it be to see your groomsmen race to the finish line in these giant sacks.  These are great for the kids too (wait, the groomsmen may be the kids!).

How To Play:  There’s a few variations to this game including individual races, relay races, team races even three legged races.

4. Drinking Games

Transport your guests back to their college days and play a drinking game.  This may be more appropriate for your after party activities though.  You may not want grandma and grandpa witnessing such shenanigans.

How To Play: Pair the gals vs the guys, the bridesmaids vs groomsmen, the husbands vs wives.

5. The Shoe Game

The shoe game is fun and for your guests enjoyment.  The couple gets to answer questions about their relationship by holding up the correct shoe that answers the question.

How To Play: The couple sits back to back so they don’t see their partners’ answers. They swap a shoe with each other so they are holding one of each. Someone asks the couple a series of questions about their relationship (ranging from the sweet questions such as“Who said ‘I love you’ first?” to funny questions designed to get laughs “Who is the better driver?” to embarrassing questions such as “Who has the smelliest feet?”). The couple answers the question by holding up the corresponding shoe.

Other wedding games to play:

Giant board games such as connect four, scrabble, checkers or chessA friendly game of darts or poolCroquetMad LibsI Spy / scavenger huntHorseshoes or Ring TossBocci BallBadminton / VolleyballBag TossFrisbeeBowlingBeer PongTic Tac ToeMini Golf
