Please check out the latest on parking for our Open Weekend on 9-10 May with this update from our release:

Parking will be available on the day at Manorafon Farm, available through the archway at the corner of Tan-y-Gopa Road and Abergele Road, for a small fee on the day; behind Abergele Library; Water Street, near the Bowling Green; or, Pensarn Beach. Cones and ‘No Parking’ signs will be in place around Tan-y-Gopa Road, Llanddulas Road and the Main Castle Entrance to help local residents. No immediate street parking will be available on the day, so please plan parking in advance.

We are sad to announce that Founding Trustee and Abergele Town Councillor John Pitt has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family.

Due to a clay pigeon shooting event, we are advising all members of the public not to go to Gwrych Castle tomorrow:

We will be at BayView shopping centre in Colwyn Bay tomorrow at 09:30 for the day if you would like to meet a small part of the team! We will be recruiting volunteers, answering any questions about what we are doing at present, and, raising money to buy a wood chipper!

All our membership correspondence to ntlworld email accounts are bouncing so please update your email preferences today (

Thanks to everyone who came to 'The Future of Heritage Construction in Wales' conference in Llandudno hosted by the Tywi Centre this weekend, as we received loads of really positive comments about the work we have been doing at Gwrych Castle. It was really refreshing to hear from such passionate people about their work in heritage construction, and we look forward to working with all of you very soon!

Can we just say a huge thank you to whoever left this comment on our community engagement survey, because it was really sweet and we will be including it in our Heritage Lottery Fund application: "Gwrych should be awarded lottery funding to go as far as possible towards restoring it to its former glory - an outstanding landmark to anyone visiting North Wales."

If you would like to help support our bid by completing the survey you can here:

We have entered the Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund competition to try and win £300 for training of key staff and volunteers. You can vote for us today by clicking this link. If we can get more votes over the next seven days than any other organisation we can win additional funds, so please vote more than once if possible.

We are aware that it is a whole year away, but for those interested it will be on the 12 December, but it is an invite only affair. If you would like to ensure your invitation now, you can join as a member through our website - - or email us directly for a form (
