End of week 1 Wrap Up of the HAM Radio Store Campaign

So here it is then end of a week looking for people to give me money so I can start a business. I have had over 500 visitors to this site with only 1 donation of $1000.00.
Then GoFundMe took the donation away because they did not like my rewards, so I removed my rewards.
I have been spreading this to all of my social media areas and I am picking up viewers a little at a time.
I said in the beginning that one of the reasons that I am using crowd funding is to gage the interest in this adventure.
I will giving this GoFundMe account 90 days to properly test the waters so to speak then I will decide on what next steps I should take with this idea.
I hope you are all doing well and as always pass this along.
Have a nice day

Day 7 of the HAM Radio Store Campaign

It’s been a week so far and this campaign is off to a slow start. I have seen stats that say you make over 60% of your donations in the first 24 hours. Well I hope that proves false here or I am in big trouble.
I as soon as I get over $500.00 in donations (all the way through to my bank account), I will start developing videos and posting them to make this more interesting.
I hope you are all doing well and as always pass this along. J
Have a nice day

Hello, Look at this
Howdy, my name is Guy Pelletier and currently I am 50 something years old.
I have always wanted to have my own business and until just recently have been unable to do so. I have spent most of my life fist in the Army then educating myself to be a Controls engineer (that is somebody who designs computer systems for machines).

I have recently fell in love with Being a HAM Radio operator and received my license back in 2014.

I got the idea of building GoBoxes while looking at You Tube videos about HAM Radio Go boxes and I thought how many HAMs are out there. It turns out that just in the United States there are over 750,000 HAMs licensed and that number is growing every year.

So with this information and the number of go boxes I saw on the internet I figured maybe people will pay to have somebody collect all that equipment and put it together for them. The problem is that HAMs are famous for tinkering with hardware; it is part of the fun of being a HAM.

I figured that people would pay for a set of custom quality HAM Radio Go Box or HAM Radio gear.

I will start out by working from home and when I get enough of a capitol stream, move to a building.

My plans for the $100,000.00 are to purchase a fast laptop along with needed software and tools used to assemble the Go Boxes and a small starting inventory. Everybody interested in a Go Box will be able to custom design a system online and I would then send them a quote.

A breakdown of items I will purchase:

Lawyer services
Accountant services
Gopro camera - to make You Tube videos
laptop
Web site (I started on one it is located at: www.pelletierselectronics.com)
AutoCAD for schematics and layout drawings
Microsoft Office
QuickBooks
Hardware:
Assorted tools to perform the assembly of Go Boxes
Testing equipment (Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Frequency generator, etc…)

I would start off with using gator cases in 4U, 6U and 8U sizes along with a couple of power options such as Line feed from an outlet or battery for solar power or both. I would let them choose whatever mobile radio or radios (up to two) they wanted along with any accessories the needed.

I would give them a complete set of documents along with a small laptop with my HAM Radio log software on it. The system would have a personalized nameplate with serial number and all components would be labeled plastic labels.

Documents will include:

Instructions on the use of Go Box
Instructions on the use of HMA radio Log (Logging software)
List of materials used to build Go Box
Electrical schematics of Go Box
Layout of Go Box

These systems will range from around $2,000.00 to $6,000.00, depending on the makeup of the system.

Once I got everything working smoothly I would become a distributor to all of the venders that I use for the Go Boxes.

I am using this gofundme campaign for two reasons, One, to get money so that I can start this and Two, to evaluate the interest in this business idea.

I know that you have other things to spend your money on and can understand if you do not donate; however, if you do donate I will greatly appreciate your contributions.

I will maintain a social media awareness of my progress and show all of you fine folks just how things are progressing (the Good, The Bad, and The Ugly).

Day 6 of the HAM Radio Store Campaign

Well this sucks, I lost my first donation because GoFundMe does not like my rewards, to quote:

“Due to the high risk nature of the incentives listed on your campaign, we are unable to process these payments. Please remove the incentives in question in order to continue processing payments.”

Because of this I have removed my rewards and have lost my first and only donation.

Life, you are a harsh mistress.

Well that’s all for now, please pass this along to anybody you know and thank you for your time 

Day 5 of the HAM Radio Store Campaign
Good Morning Internet!! I woke up to another fine day the birds are shinning, the sun is singing and life could not be better.
I am starting to get hits on my business website (www.pelletierselectronics.com), my Twitter account is starting to explode (@glpelletier) and my Facebook site is really busy (www.facebook.com/glpelletier). I have the beginnings of donations ($1,000.00) and my plan is close to being finished, man does it take a long time to do the paperwork for a small business!
I have started to post videos on my YouTube page (www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ8wWEFKLqctGRCBki1UmSw) and I will start to post more videos once I get my webcam. I downloaded a couple of free pieces of software for screen capture (CamStudio) and video editing (Windows Movie Maker) and I produced my first video and posted it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiXQEnk7-Sk) it is only 38 seconds long and it does not have any sound. I will probably post a couple more test videos before I produce real content.
My first video (real) will be introducing myself to the world.

Well that’s all for now, please pass this along to anybody you know and thank you for your time 
