not a one and I might have a heart attack if one does.

It's a miracle that security didn't shoot him...

Let's hope NO conservative ever wears a hoodie. We have to live up to our high standards of intelligence, morality, and dignity! It's not easy being a conservative, you have your own family to support and 16 welfare ones as well through your high taxes!

+Lars Fosdal especially after the speaker said " The member is no longer recognized".

RE> "It's not easy being a conservative, you have your own family to support and 16 welfare ones as well through your high taxes!"

This is a fantasy. Aid to dependent children (welfare) is a grain of sand in the budget ocean. We've been spending 200 million dollars a day for over a decade--on two wars that don't make a lick of sense. If you are worried about spending real money, that's a good place to start.

Why did we go to war with Iraq? No one knows. What was the good outcome supposed to be? No one knows. Unlike Iraq there was a grain of a logical argument in the Afghanistan debacle. But that war fails the good sense test too, because there could not and cannot be any beneficial outcome. Who started those wars anyway....oh yes. I remember now. It was neo-conservatives who took the lead role there.

And so many of those welfare and food stamps families you support are white conservative republicans. You really have to maintain a standard of dress to be in your social status. +Chris Donnell

The more I read about this the more it sounds like it was just another tragedy. Both parties involved made mistakes caused by poor judgement that ultimately had terrible consequences for them and their families.

Stunts like this are just that...stunts...with the shallow goal to score political points. I find this sort of display in very poor taste and beneath our elected officials.

It's election season and the Pander express is at full force. I wouldn't put it past them.

It's the cheesy stunts that often get noticed, where as classy stunts seem to fade away.

Please do not insult the intellectuals. Republican's recent departure from the intellectuals have repulsed many. Your party's top potential nominee for presidential election called Obama a snob because he wants every American to get at least 1 year of college education!
Intellectuals looks at the scientific studies about the society before they make conclusions, and if the situation changes, they follow the facts and change their strategies and not follow some preconceived dogma in the face of hard facts. This can hardly be said about the recent republican party from dialing back science education in school to denying global warming. There is a reason why more university professors are liberal than conservative, and there is a reason why the republican party has branded intellectuals "elitists" (negative of course).

And morality? Please give me a definition of who is conservative, (religion? party line?) and let's take a look at the statistics on everything including divorce rates, crime rates and infidelity rates. A quick google search shows me more embarrassing scandals of republican politicians in recent decade than democratic politicians. Looking at crime rate alone, education is one of the most influential factor, see this study published in 2003. http://emlab.berkeley.edu/~moretti/lm46.pdf And guess which side has been more on the side of public spending on education? You guessed right, not the republicans.

So, all in all, before you make a statement about conservatives being more moral or intelligent, take a look at the statistics, because that is what intelligent people do.

Sorry Kim, how is their "equal poor judgement" in this case? One guy called 9/11, ignored the operator's advice by following an unarmed kid in his car as he was walking to his dad's house and then shot him dead.

I consider myself to be a conservative and I wear a hoodie all the time.

I didn't say that hate crimes don't exist, +David Renaud. I'm just not so certain that this one fits the bill as more detail comes out.

I stand by my first comment, however. This sort of stunt will only help to fan the flames further and make it far more difficult for a man to get his right to a fair trial since the mob has apparently already decided his guilt.

How does this do anything but encourage further resentment?

+Guy Kawasaki , you have may informative and interesting things to say. This is not one. I have you in my "Technology" circle. I ahve a "Political" circle that is muted because I get enough of that everywhere else. G+ is my zone for inspiration, creativity and positive input.

You are welcome to use your voice in a negative non-creative way if that is your desire. Just as I am free to block this type of partisan baiting.

Can you wear hoodies in the House, as long as their hood is down?

Sigh..

I remember growing up when we still seemed to believe in the concept of innocent until PROVEN guilty of a crime.

This media circus, this inciting of violence, and perhaps murder (a price on his head WTF???) is shameful.

There's so much mis-information just being repeated as gospel about this story.. how the hell will he ever get anything close to a fair trial?

This mob-rule in place of the law is shameful. That our nation's leaders seem to be *ENCOURAGING * it is treasonous.

I'm ready to hop on a sailboat and sail away. I can't stand to be surrounded by idiots and hypocrites any more.

Breaking News on this case: A police surveillance video taken the night that Trayvon Martin was shot dead shows no blood or bruises on George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who says he shot Martin after he was punched in the nose, knocked down and had his head slammed into the ground.

His lawyer later insisted that Zimmerman's nose had been broken in his scuffle with 17-year-old Martin.

In the video an officer is seen pausing to look at the back of Zimmerman's head, but no abrasions or blood can be seen in the video and he did not check into the emergency room following the police questioning.

why i will be boycotting spike lee and his movies.
1) he re-tweeted the address of who he believed was George Zimmerman's
2) he has yet to apologize to the family that lived in the house, that has nothing to do with Zimmerman.
3) he should had never re-tweeted it even if it was correct.

can a black man be racist - yes
can a hispanic man be a racist - yes
can a white man be a racist - yes

we need to stop the hate.
we need to put skin color aside and work together black, white, hispanic, etc.... to move forward.
were there black slaves - yes
were there white slaves - yes
were there hispanic slaves - yes

slave comes from Slovak people. the vikings would go to Slovakia and sell them to egypt and other countries in the black sea area.
Slovak people are white.
if you believe in the bible there were thousands of jewish slaves in egypt.

so not only were black people slaves but white as well.
whites fought to get blacks freed.
whites risked death to run the underground railroad to help slaves leaving the south.
my family never owned a slave.
my great great great grandfather fought on the union side of the civil war.

this black, hispanic, white bull shit has to stop.
there are good and bad of all peoples.

if you look at videos of martin luther king jr there were whites there as well.

stop being stupid.
stop over reacting.
good people go to jail.
bad people go free.
it happens so stop it.

We (including Spike) should be the change we want to see in the world. An eye for an eye will not stop more George's from killing more Trayvons.

I agree Spike Lee's behavior was ridiculous. This tragedy has caused many people to lose their damn minds.

Just yesterday in Lancaster California a Asian jewelry owner was rob by 3 African American wearing Black hoodies. They shot the store owner infront on the store. He died in the scene. Just saying!

+Nathan Lynn no because that would make us no better then him. look at my profile and post and re-send it to your circles. i say we boycott spike lee. hit him in the wallet and then he will think twice the next time.

He is Kofi Annan, isn't he?

what an asshole this is so pitiful. is this what we have become? REALLY? WTF

yo home slice, nota hata, just an innovetar. whut whut (-:

now he just needs to jump on somebody for the full effect

So, he deserved to die? At the hands of a vigilante?

Of course he deserved to die! Vigilantes kill only the deserving! Everybody knows that.

Lessee, now. A trigger-happy vigilante killed a fellow in a hoodie and Obama stuck his foot in it when he said that was a shame. Guess you're right.

This shows just how miss-guided so many laws are in the first place. The fact that an important discussion is stopped because what attire is worn is completely ill-rational.

I think it depends on the cities in which the candidates are campaigning. I think Romney could theoretically wear a hoodie for a campaign stop, for show, but that would all depend on his audience. Wasn't that the point of the original photo in this post? (Who wouldn't wear a hoodie?)

And they have time for this? what happened to running the country?

Unless I missed +Guy Kawasaki 's point, this is the point: "Since we see many liberals cashing in on Martin's death, who will be the first Republican to do so?" I see a lot of cashing-in going on, not just solidarity, and it makes me a bit sad.

are the democrats really trying attack a hispanic male as to demonize him and the group of people he may represent in order to keep a group of people they already own and they have oppressd for many years

The Matrix or (New World Mentality) has most people hooked. Sad part is we all think we are free. what-ever... FREE YOUR MIND. For those who truely understand this thank you for your post and comments. Many things I have read the past few days on the Travon tragedy have reflected the Matrix indoctrination rather than logical education. For those that dont know... race was abandoned as a major control tactic by the most powerful (those that OWN the media, stock market, and govt. . in other words by people you will NEVER EVER EVER.. MEET) in the e late 60,s early 70,s with the Kent State Ohio Shooting (look it up). There is a shooter and a killed child. The love of justice should have a trial and let a jury decide.
Today young whites students are being pepper sprayed, beat, and arrested at occupy protest all over the country by black, white and hispanic cops. Is that racist? However in the Matrix or May-trick-us. They play us against each other using race like it matters and sit back like the architect and laugh at how there machine..ie TV,radio, and people puppets play our emotions. Bottom line a child is dead and the killer was not forced to interact with Travon. 2nd..Travon was minding his own business unaware that he was being watched(at first.) 3rd The killer was told to stop by 911.. that means Stop. 4th. Travon had no weapon. 5th. I don't recall the killer going to the hospital that night for injuries. For those of you with external education thank you for your work. For the rest. You are the new Slaves of you own matrix controlled mind... RIP.. Travon and all lost people. LOVE IS THE KEY TO FREEDOM.

So I guess "siding with one side before knowing the actual facts" is now when you show compassion for the grieving family of the deceased teenager in a tragedy. Good to know. Here is POTUS exact quote. OUTRAGE!

I’m the head of the Executive Branch and the attorney general reports to me so I’ve got to be careful about my statements so that we’re not impairing any investigation that’s taking place right now. But, obviously, this is a tragedy. I can only imagine what these parents are going through. And when I think about this boy, I think about my own kids. And I think every parent in America,” he said, “should be able to understand why it is absolutely imperative to investigate every aspect of this and that everybody pulls together — federal, state, and local — to figure out exactly how this tragedy happened....I think all of us have to do some soul searching to figure out how does something like this happen. And that means we examine the laws and the context for what happened, as well as the specifics of the incident. But my main message is to the parents of Trayvon Martin. You know, if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon. And, you know, I think they are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves and that we’re going to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.

In the future events will be judged by the response it receives via social media, +1 and Likes will change to Guilty or Not Guilty. Judges (and Juries) will transition from elected officials to social media CEO's... Guess the timeline ;)

OF COURSE Bobby Rush wore the hoodie....

+Massa Opinador His comment was about getting the facts and feeling bad for the kid's family that had died. It is a national story and many wanted his thoughts because you know, he is the President of the United States. There was nothing premature or foolish in his words and there were plenty complaining that the President took too long to comment on the tragedy.

Thank you for the full quote, +Adam McGinnis, because it just refuted everything he'd been saying. Obama did not say his son would be like Trayvon, but that he would look like Trayvon. He said that a kid being shot dead is a tragedy. And he said that the investigation would be thorough and the law applied regardless of the race of the victim or the suspect.

+Justin Pope: Yeah, how DARE Obama suggest that the rule of law be applied equally to all people? (sighs) -- the President was showing something called empathy, a trait that so many right-wingers (but not all! Several have surprised me lately by showing signs of conscience) appear to lack.

pop-up the peoples concerns : rest are rootless innocent

The President did not rush to speak as many were wanting him to comment much earlier. He was asked a question about a national story and he answered it with empathy and compassion for a grieving family. Period.

You can create all the red herring situations you want for a deflection but they are irrelevant and it pretty obvious that +Massa Opinador dislikes POTUS and would be criticizing his behavior no matter what he did not did not do to satisfy your shifting levels of outrage.

Btw, in your straw man scenario, the black man would have been arrested and be in jail, which is kind of the point to the protests in the streets across America.

For others with an open mind, here is an informative google maps video with narration of the shooting and Zimmerman's dad's story does not really hold up. http://www.showme.com/sh/?h=5ABSods

Hoodies aren't the problem, just like guns aren't the problem. Anyway for the record: My dogs that happen to be very sweet and obedient Doberman Pinchers when cold wear their hoodie. =)

Hats off to this brave man who was mocking every racist idiot. It's great to know that some people are boiling mad over the joy that black people experience when we come together in defense of one another. Call it what you want, but it ain't gonna stop anytime soon. There will always be those who seek justice at its root: Treat others as you wish to be treated.
