In this weeks Tip Tuesday Raj from Guru Plumbing, Heating, and Drainage will be showing you why it is important to know where your pipes, how to find them and how to prevent damage.

As you all know reno season is here, a lot of us will be pounding nails and driving screws until we puncture a plumbing line. This is easily avoidable by locating your plumbing lines.

Two easy ways to save your plumbing lines are:

1) Use a stud detector with metal option to find metal pipes
2) Never drill or cut to deep through the drywall to avoid puncturing undetected plumbing lines

By following these 2 easy steps you will avoid a plumbing catastrophe.

In this weeks TIP TUESDAY, Raj from Guru Plumbing Heating and Drainage is showing what is the main cause for a water leak around the toilet.

Toilets are probably the most essential plumbing fixtures in the home and are used daily. Over time these fixtures also require a little bit of tlc. The most common issue with toilets is water leaking around the toilet. This is very common but can be easily repaired. The cause of this is a bad wax seal. A wax seal is an integral part of the plumbing system for a toilet. It provides the seal between the toilet and the toilet flange located on the floor. Over the years these wax seals can deteriorate and water passes through them onto the floor. The best way to remedy this problem is to remove the toilet, remove the existing wax seal, put in place new wax seal and re-install the toilet.

And that is it for this week catch us next week with another TIP TUESDAY by Raj.

In this weeks TIP TUESDAY Raj from Guru Plumbing Heating and Drainage will be showing you 3 tips to avoid clogged kitchen sinks.

Clogged sinks can be a big issue as it hinders you to perform basic tasks like cleaning the dishes as well as general food works.

Here are the 3 basic tips:

1) Avoid dumping grease into the kitchen sink, try to clean grease off the containers and other utensils before putting it into the sink

2) Use the Garburator properly - use it for food scraps only, try to use a green waste bin instead of the garburator

3) Wash down with hot water and bleach every now and then to keep the water flowing

And that is it for this week, catch us next week with another Tip Tuesday by Raj, from Guru Plumbing Heating and Drainage
