Got to find new areas to explore. I'm fortunate that I live sort of in the country where there are long windy, hilly roads in one direction, flat in the other. I need the flat sometime because in my aging body too many hills (on concrete/asphalt roads) exhausts my legs. I also like to trail run.

Personal politics aside, the scandals surrounding the Obama administration demonstrate the importance of narratives in influencing public opinion. And once a brand/political leader begins to lose grip of the foundational story that made them popular to begin with, their future ability to pass legislation/sell becomes severely jeopardized.
No contemporary American politician has benefited more from the power of good storytelling than Barack Obama. He vaulted from obscurity to the presidency on the power of narrative — invoking his biography and personal values to make a larger point about how he would lead the nation. So presumably no one understands more vividly than Obama and...

Well placed words have tremendous power.
"I know nothing in the world that has as much power as a word," Emily Dickinson once wrote. It's with that notion in mind that writers have assembled as guerrilla poets, leaving their words on bill...

"Behavioral science is now telling us that we don’t really have 'Free Will.' We have 'Free Won’t.' We can give in to the visceral impulses that drive us, or choose to apply the brakes of rational restraint."

Plato said as much over 2,500 years ago.

Some secrets are meant to be shared. This little hole in the wall is home to the best vegetarian General Tso in the Greater Boston Area. Crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, it's a tofu delight that even the staunchest carnivore will find appetizing. Service is fast and the staff always cordial. Feng Shui is our go-to for Chinese takeout. Highly recommended.

Great running trails. The main path around the reservoir is about 4 miles long but you can add a couple of extra miles by taking some side trails. The main trail is well-taken care of and generally free of roots or rocks. Ideal to get into trail running or just to get off the road. The side trails are a bit more technical and can add some edge to your workout. The scenery is quite beautiful, especially considering it's in Haverhill.

Very courteous service, delicious/fresh food and classic Portland ambiance. Does it take a little longer to receive your order? Yes, because it's made with care and attention. Best brunch I've ever had in that city.

Went there for brunch and found our food (Eggs Benedict and Greek Skillet Eggs) excellent, with prices about what you'd expect for Boston's Back Bay (around $10 a plate). What really sealed the deal was their outstanding customer service, the kind we rarely see anymore. As our food was a little late coming out (nothing outrageous though), the waiter told us we wouldn't have to pay anything. You read that correctly: not a penny. 5 Napkins Burger understands that great customer service extends far beyond the walls of their restaurant. This experience literally made me happy for the rest of the day. Highly recommended.
