My husband called for reservations on a Wednesday and Friday night we called to confirm because we had never received an email confirmation (supposed to check in Saturday). We found out they did not have our reservation! So thankfully they put us up in a Villa for reduced price which was very spacious but it was dirty. There were handprints on the walls, dirt on the floor, and cobwebs. I was going to vacuum the floor and the vacuum would not work. I called the front desk who said they would let housekeeping know and would be there to check it out. They never came. We go swimming and the spa was closed. The second day the door blew off the top of the kids water play area after the big bucket spilled over. Which then, they closed that also. We spent a lot of time at the enchanted forest but the service there was awful! I stood at the desk to be seated and several waitresses walked passed me without a saying a word. After standing there for almost 10 minutes, I finally asked if we just seat ourselves, and then someone came to seat us! They did not have enough employees to run all the games so the slide and inflatables were free because no one was there to take cards. There was an employee, who multiple times stated she was not sure if she put the harness on right to go down the zipline which did not make us feel safe at all. Overall, for a holiday weekend, we had expected all the features to be working and for it to not be so understaffed. We will probably start going to another waterpark from now on. SAFE YOUR MONEY!

This place is wonderful. It is right across the street from starved rock. The amusment area and water park are full of fun. The food at the grill is fairly priced and very yummy, I recomend the chickem bacon ranch sandwich. over all I give this place five stars knowing i got my moneys worth.

We stayed here this past weekend for a friend's wedding. The banquet venue is GORGEOUS. However, the hotel rooms were mediocre. The beds don't have fitted sheets - just 2 flat sheets. The room didn't have a coffee machine, iron, or ironing board. We got 4 pre-loaded cards with $60 each for their "Adventureland" and 4 wristbands for the waterpark, but as four 20-somethings, we had no use for these. We asked the front desk if we could just trade these cards in for 2 morning breakfasts (a much cheaper expense) but we weren't given an alternative option. It's not a bad place, just definitely has one specific audience.

Grizzly Jacks is a great place to stay and play. The kids had plenty to do and were busy every day. The pool area with lazy river was nice. They could make it better by updating the locker rooms and cleaning them.

Worst resort/water park I have ever experienced. Villa was dirty upon arrival and amenities were outdated. The staff was flat out rude. Attractions were dull and the "indoor water park" a lazy river and two small waterslides got old quickly. Overall we had a terrible weekend and to top it all off I was charged an extra 650 dollars for dirty towels. The towels weren't dirty and their policy clearly stated that it would only cost 15 dollars per towel and we only received ten towels. I'm no math wiz but that doesn't add up. DONT GO HERE!!!!

Great staff, excellent customer service, and wonderful amenities! Stayed here with a group of friends in the Luxury Cabin and the accommodations were everything we wanted in terms of plenty of towels, clean rooms, good number of bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchen stocked with dishes and a great view of the surrounding nature. We were across the street from the St. Louis Canyon which is a must see with the waterfall, and minutes from Starved Rock State Park where we hiked and saw French Canyon, Lovers Leap, and Starved Rock. There's also a lot of great restaurants and bars within driving distance.

PLEASE READ IF YOU'RE TORN ON REVIEWS I read so many mixed reviews for this resort, but, wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I had a wedding to go to and the reception was here, so, I decided to make a fun filled family weekend out of it. The resort was gorgeous--the grounds, the rooms were rustic, and the waterpark was very nice. They had so many things for my 10 year old sister to enjoy/participate in and she absolutely LOVED it! So, for that, they receive some stars. Problems? 1. There is no indoor amusement park. It's like.. 1/4 of your county fair. That's poor advertising and just a lie. There was a zipline (that was very small), a ropes course, a lazer tag, a rock wall, and a super slide with potato sack bags. You receive ample $$ to this w/ a reservation, which, thank God because I'd NEVER pay the out of pocket prices for everything (about $5 each). [The arcade games are nice, but, not included in your packages] 2. My mother and I found a $5000 check on the grounds addressed to some beer supplier from the resort. After a 3 minute moral dilemma check, we turned it in and were thanked alongside being told 'we'd be taken care of'. Now, I didn't expect my trip to be paid for, but a $50 gift card or a couple bucks off the fee would have been nice. None of this happened. In today's society, there are few and far between folks like my family who would have turned this in.. which leads me to #3.. 3. How I was 'taken care of' was that my credit card information was given out and unauthorized purchases were made on my card. I know this is from this resort because I only use this specific bank account card for big purchases (and I had to spend 85% of my tax return to afford this nice mini vacation). It was only $9 at first and then it continued to occur. I DOUBT I AM THE FIRST TO EXPERIENCE THIS BUT IF YOU ARE NOT VIGILANT WITH YOUR CARD, $9 IS NOTHING AFTER A $550 WEEKEND. My 10 year old sister loved this trip. She will always remember the indoor water park while it was freezing outside, the fun bunk beds we had, and the zipline.. but, she does not know the hell her 23 year old sister has gone through for that fun weekend. Please think about your choice of staying and if the risk is worth the reward.

We came here two years ago and loved it. But this time was a huge disapointment. We got a cabin that was sappose to have a stocked kitchen. We had to cook our own food do to our daughters health. We made reservations for 9 people. There were only 5 glasses, 5 plates, and 4 sets of silverware. There was basically no cookware or utensils, kitchen towels, ect. Super hard to cook with nothing. The villa was very worn, faucets no longer worked well. Water pressure was only a trickle in most sinks. Showers worked fine. But the biggest problem was the water park. Band aids, clobs of hair, diaper filling floating in the water. Very dirty facility. Enchanted forest use to have alot of rides, now it has only a few rides and the rest is arcade games that cost extra. We got 18 $30. cards with our stay, but went home with most of them because there was really nothing to use them on. Lines were long so you could only go on the rides a few times.
